Radio says he was practicing a straight line pit entry to cut time when done on race day, was told photographers were there before doing it.

Red Bull have got that car perfectly set up for Vettel. Perhaps it's no coincidence Webber is struggling.

EDIT: Hamilton lost all 3 tenths in that last sector, he locked up at the beginning, would that explain that away completely or are Red Bull just stronger?

I liked the way Petrov made sure to get his DRS opened after smashing his car up.

    Looking good for Seb. <diva>

    Agreed.
    • Vettel has absolutely fantastic traction through the bits that really matter: sectors 1 and 3.
    • Alonso will be quite happy to watch those two scrapping over each other's winner's points. He knows that while they fight each other, his Championship lead looks ever more safe for a third crown.
    • Hamilton has sector 2 nailed but this is not enough compensation for Pole
Also in Vettel's favour is that his traction will help reduce tyre wear through the race*. For this reason, I would not be too surprised to see Hamilton – who tends to find compensation for low grip with audacious driving – doing three stops to Vettel's and Alonso's two. Similarly, I expect Button to be easier on his tyres than his team mate at this circuit.

Although this might seems to be a contradiction in terms, we should remember that tyre wear is increased when struggling for traction.

Mine doesn't. Might be your browser.

More importantly, what does it say about Italian business and culture that bent, corrupt and disgraced businessman Flavio Briatore is hosting their version of The Apprentice? <doh>

Hamilton will get pole, it's only going to get colder, and Red Bull are better in the heat.

Both Williams are looking handy, and Mercedes where is the pace come from now?

Yet to come down to the 1:47's yet Ham goes fastest.
