After looking at the Singapore GP again for the 3rd time I sense Fernando is actually scared of Seb more than anybody else for the rest of the season. Never seen him so quiet or timid when around Seb to the point that he actually avoids eye contact with him, not because of resentment or hate, but fear! The pressure is ranking up for Alonso to get his 3rd title! And Seb during the interview after the race looked actually upset that Lewis DNF'd in front as he looked up for a great fight with Lewis while on the primes. Seb still wanting to fight it out with best and win, rather than being gifted a clear run with no actual competition.
I haven't noticed any discussion about how utterly bizarre the concept of Alonso and Vettel driving for Ferrari in 2014 actually is. It defies the usual preconceptions (misconceptions?) about both Ferrari and Alonso. Does nobody else think it strange that the team most people expect to run #1 and #2 drivers would run two drivers who expect #1 treatment?
I believe we will see the real Seb when he goes into Ferrari with Alonso. Seb would have grown up to that degree (26) and should have a more steely exterior after this year mainly with it carrying on into 2013. Alonso isn't acting all buddy buddy with Seb anymore, seems both have made it their intentions they wont take **** off each other now they are practically "team-mates" already. Stefano and Luca seem to be in love with Seb as well, which does smell off "bias" that he is already signed. Seb should fit in very quickly as he was hanging around and observing how Schumacher controlled Ferrari at his prime, it was if secretly Schumacher and Ferrari were grooming Seb for the future. Alonso does now consider him a major threat, his mind-games and recent demeanor towards him support this claim that he is coming and Alonso will have to share power, like it or lump it.
I can't stand Ferrari and I'm really cynical about the way they're run, are large part of me suspects they just want Vettel there because they know that's the only way the can guarantee he won't have a better car than Alonso, Hamilton joining Mercedes is the icing on the cake as he was likely to replace Vettel at Red Bull. I think Vettel's prepared to go up against Alonso because his desire to drive for Ferrari is so strong. Alonso probably thinks Vettel would be less of a threat in a Ferrari than a Red Bull, he's confident of his own abilities and it would be a massive loss of face if he vetoed the move with Vettel so eager. I really hope Vettel doesn't go, I don't like Ferrari and I'd have to find a new favourite driver (Red Bull's Valterri Bottas most probably ).
Interesting point, Ferrari are regarded as Alonso's team in much the same way McLaren were thought of as Lewis's team. Everyone said Button was joining Hamilton's team but from quite early on in 2010 a lot of Hamilton fans were saying Whitmarsh preferred Button.
Better to have him on the inside pissing out, you mean? That makes sense in terms of the Ferrari mindset but I'm surprised that Vettel would want to jump so soon. I mean, what happened to his supposed 2016 Red Bull contract and virtual wedding vows re the long-term relationship with Newey? He's got plenty of time to drive for Ferrari on his own terms.
Ferrari think of only of themselves, Schumacher and Kimi were never immune for being "stabbed in the back" for a younger hotshot that is possibly considered "better" than what they already have and Alonso is no different and he has less influence than what Schumacher ever had. Alesi <- Schumacher <- Kimi <- Alonso <- Vettel <- ??? Ferrari think of the future and getting Seb away from RBR is a must to regain the WCC, they wont do it with just 1 top driver, not in this field they wont.

Does Alonso not have the power to veto Vettel coming in 2014? I can't imagine that he likes the idea.
I think that veto is nothing but bullshit, Alonso doesn't run Ferrari or own it. He will do as he is told just like Seb if he joins!
I won't be very good at tallying up the past scores, getting info on past race winners and so on... best to leave it for the professionals.
