Won’t comment on all, but for me.. Redbull Vettel – 9, Bit high, maybe 8, his car was capable of Pole and he won due to misfortune of others Webber – 6, generous if you ask me, started 7th finished out of the points in what was the joint quickest car, 5 at best! McLaren Button – 8, Hmm, 7 at the most, shown up by Hamilton again, he had the joint quickest car and couldn’t keep up with Vettel! Hamilton – 10, Can’t argue with that, took pole with a great lap, controlled the race and would most likely have won but for mechanical issues. Ferrari Alonso – 10, Very generous if you ask me! He qualified where we thought he would, but for Hamilton and Maldonado’s issues he’d have finished where he started, 8 for me, did what he had to do, nothing more nothing less! Massa – 6, Bit harsh, didn’t see what caused his puncture but if it wasn’t his fault, I thought he had a decent drive back through the field, 7 maybe 8 out of 10 for me! Notable mentions: Schumacher – 4, should read minus 4, time to leave old man, you’re doing your legend no good and bloody lucky that accident wasn’t more serious, for yourself and Verne!
how the **** does Karthikeyan always get a 6? I wasn't surprised to see Webber get a penalty, I thought he deserved one as it looked like he made a pass whilst off circuit at the start and another one later, but how Massa got away with some of his corner cutting is a joke. FIA Ferrari International Assistance, it's funny because it's true.
I've only ever said posative things about Alonso and he was my driver of the season last year. But 10??? Lets be honest, Jonnybaws is right, he qualified no higher than expected and would have finished there. He was very lucky with Hamilton and Maldonado having mechanical faliures.
he was running behind PDLR from lap 1 and dropping further and further back lap by lap, same as in Monza, he might beat PDLR in qualifying but the race is a different story, in both he was overtaken and left behind after the first lap.
I remember well the days of running wide accidentally on F1 06 and being penalised for it. Glad to see things haven't changed one bit!
I fondly remember the days of not even bothering to qualify in Australia because you could just go straight on at turns 1 & 2 and go from 20th to about 4th on the first lap on F1 97.
I fondly remember (because I've been playing it again recently) deliberately pitting in on Monaco on F1 Manager in order to ensure a quicker laptime, and/or getting drivers to go hell for leather on the outlap because it was shorter First F1 game I played was Formula One for the PSOne (1995 season I think it was - that's how old it was by the time I got my hands on it!) which was notable for the way that if you touched the grass you might as well have been on ice.
All the early ones were like that, even on gravel, if you touched the throttle you'd donut. If you were approaching a chicane at speed though you could just lift off before you hit the grass/gravel and you' track perfectly straight across it and lose hardly any speed.
Playstation. It had really weird cheats on it for some reason, there was one that made it rain frogs.
Why is Villeneuve referred to as "Williams No.1"? I seem to remember the same happening in the one based on the 98 season. My friend called his "Carlos Montoya"
Fair enough I suppose. Incidentally: http://www.mobygames.com/game/speed-challenge-jacques-villeneuves-racing-vision I want to go download that now. PC version has an aggregated rating of 4.1/10.
