the Lewis Hamilton bad luck year Australia: Faulty clutch costs him 1st away from the line, loses 2nd due to safety car, car not got enough fuel for optimum race pace. China: gearbox grid penalty. Bahrain: slow pitstops cost him about 17 extra seconds in the pitlane. Spain: Put from pole position to the back of the grid. Monaco: McLaren fail to watch Alonso's strategy and lose him a place. Valencia: 14 second long pitstop, Maldonado crashes into him from off the track. Germany: Hamilton takes same line through debris as everyone else, but is only driver to take puncture that leads to zero points. Spa: Grosjean crashes into him for no reason. Singapore: Gearbox failiure from the lead of the race.
Shocking when you look at it like that... An element of luck is needed in a title fight, and that (Bar Monaco) is nothing but lousy luck.
On the posative side though, how much has he come forward compared to last year http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19692695
I would say that this has been his best year to date with regards to his attitude and driving. He just hasn't had any luck, which makes his attitude all the more impressive. Thats what I was thinking, maybe its a hollow victory with Hamilton and all jk
I honestly am really sad at the moment, there have been high points but just too many lows. Michael has made 3 notable mistakes, Spain, Hungary and now here. Other than that he has been more of a match for Nico, a fantastic pole... good quali performances, nice duels notably with Raikkonen this year. I cannot help feel the car has let him down from the start, but he has not helped it with them three mistakes. As time is running out, there is a sense of desperation. I just hope a memorable (good) result is around the corner for him. The same goes for Hamilton, in the car he has had, you would expect him to be leading, and its not the case. Such a downer.
After last season, he really has come back strong and is maybe showing the dominance over Button that people expected in 2010. Despite that awful luck, I think he's on great form and I think he does too... which is maybe why he's not losing it so much like he did last year.
If this is his last season... I'm with ya. One last time on the top step would be enough to walk away with. Chin up lad!
Yeah I suppose, I just enjoyed the fact, that at-least in my lifetime as an adult, I have seen him race live (well on the tv). One more win is all I ask, like you said. Just one more. Haha, getting emotional now.
I was happy, then the stewards tried to **** on that parade for about 2 hours so it kind of killed the mood.
