An old mate of mine, who used to play for Palace many years ago, can beat that. He got sent off in the tunnel before the game even started when he got into a row and chinned one of the opposing team's players.
Tim Flowers once got sent off without being in the starting xi, let alone on the pitch - he was on the bench, questioned a referee's call, and got a straight red.
This is a poser for Arsenal fans, if we take it that Chelsea City and Arsenal could finish in top 3, who would we rather have in 4th place ? Would we rather have United whose fans would be unbearable about it and the media would cum in pants over it! Or would we rather have Loserpool whose fans (see above) and media (see above)! Or would we rather have Spurs whose fans would start threads about NL Power Shifts etc and would also be unbearable but media would ignore as one hit wonders. Or would we have Saints whose fans would be just very happy to be there after last seasons clear out and the media would ignore (see above). I would prefer Saints, but if not them I would genuinely prefer Spurs to take 4th as at least they aren't Mancs or Scousers !
I think you're wrong on this, G4E. Did you see the way the Saints fans got up themselves when they thought they were in with a chance of winning the league? The arrogance carried through when they thought they were going to get top 4; and it's only now, when they realise that both those little dreams are well and truly over, that they've become bearable. Trust me, you don't want any team that isn't used to finishing in the top 5 getting a CL place, because their fans would be an absolute nightmare. Imagine, for example, if the Spanners ever made top 4!
Liverpool last season are a perfect example of the above. Small club not used to the bigtime get all mouthy when they do well.
Yes, that's true. It had been so long since 'Pool had finished in the top 4 that most of the Mousers on this site got a bit giddy with the excitement of it all, and it all got a bit crazy. .
Tbh I didn't see anything from saints fans that was too over the top but I will take your word on it. Spurs worst nightmare scenario is that West Ham ever finish above them and in top 4. It would take an absolute 'kin miracle though !!!
They were a one man team. Without him, they are back fighting for an EL place - which is creditable given the amount of English players they have.
