I can't wait for tonight's match. Finally, some more football! I'm particularly interested in - as I'm sure we all are! - how we set up and play, which players BR chooses to use tonight, as well as how he uses certain players. As Bluff says, it'll also be good to see the new kit get an airing. Is it at the Blue Jay's stadium? Also, if they keep the roof open couldn't you watch the game from the CN tower with a pair of bin's and a beer?
We have the first team line-up from Brendan Rodgers! The first-half team is as follows: Jones - Wisdom Sama Carragher Enrique - Spearing Aquilani Adam - Ibe Eccleston Pacheco And the second-half team is as follows: Gulacsi - Flanagan Skrtel Wilson Robinson - Adorjan Shelvey Suso - Cole Sterling Morgan SUBS: Ward, McLaughlin, Smith, Lucas - So, I assume it's a 4-3-3. Looking at the first half team, you would expect Spearing, Aquilani & Adam in the middle with Ibe & Pacheco either side of Eccleston. The second half team will probably be set up the same with Cole & Sterling either side of Adam Morgan.
Looking forward to seeing all of them play, but especially Aquilani/Adam/Spearing mix in the first half, and Suso/Shelvey/Sterling in second half. Nice.
Looking at the line-ups, it will be good for the likes of Wisdom & Sama at the back to play alongside Carragher & Enrique. Will give them good experience. Looking at the midfield, the three of Spearing, Aquilani & Adam will be looking to impress. I certainly think many people will be looking towards Aquilani to see how he does. Up-front, will be interesting to see how they work. You would think that Eccleston & Pacheco need to impress or they could find first-team games difficult to come by. Will be good experience for Ibe and i'll look forward to see how he plays. - The second half team is also interesting. The defence looks strong with the back four of Flanagan, Skrtel, Wilson & Robinson all having first-team experience. Wilson gets a chance in his favourite postion of centre-back and will look to impress. The midfield will be intriguing with Suso & Adorjan having not had minutes for the first-team. Both highly rated so will look at their performances. Up-front looks good as well with Cole getting the chance to show us what he can do. (Certainly hasn't so far in his Liverpool career...) A lot of people rate Morgan highly so he has a big chance to stake a claim for some first-team football.
Lots of passing so far, as you would expect. Good save by Jones as a shot comes in from the edge of the 18 yard line.
Only 27 minutes in and we've had a change... Toronto FC make a substitution with Morgan coming off and Pasher is on.
Ah, we're here then. Ibe looks decent but far too young. Aqua looks classy in possession. Wisdom uncomfortable on the ball. Pacheco up for it.
I've only just noticed! Had this tab open and was watching the game and have just noticed that I was talking to myself!
He looks like he's trying hard to stay out wide which is good. All his crosses have been off his weak foot so far... and with little to aim at really. I like him. Don't know if he'll ever make it but I hope he does.
Looking okay. Good passing, good possession, poor in last quarter and not so good finishing. Have we hit the bar yet, though? That's the question. Want to see the second half more, if anything. More youth players to look at, and maybe a Lucas appearance?
Second half the team is much stronger so hopefully some chances. Really wish Aqua's situation was better, he's everything I like in midfielders - class, subtlety, finesse, vision...
