So after camp, rain delays, finally getting it done, beers, game, and such. My 2 cents....

1.) Shelvey's transformation, by far the best player for us today.

2.) Aqua looked composed but Cole looked much better today and hit the woodwork ( who us??)

3.)Enrique looks seriously off the pace, what is up? Needs to stop being the boss on PS3 and be the boss on the field like he was at the beginning of last year.

4.) Not worried on the result, we played loads of young players mixed with experience and didn't really put out a "best" team.

5.) Joe Allen, 22 is it? 15 million pounds? Michael Bradley 3 million Euros, 24, established international, just shows why I think the fee is just a tad bit excessive.

6.) The possession still needs work and certain players showed they struggle with it, Spearing and Carra ( not really surprised are we) on that note.

7.) Without Suarez, Carroll, and Borini we are absolutely toothless in attack, hopefully we get to see a pretty much full squad against the spuds.

    <ok>

God I'm knackered this morning.. all because I stayed up past my beddyboes time on a school day to watch that crud.

It pisses me off that our preseason is so ****ty this year. With all our players coming back at different times, because of ****ty international football. We are not going to get a single match with our first choice 11. But on top of that, we have so many big matches stacked up at the beginning, we are really going to struggle to play anything like a team.

The English lads are going to have 45 minutes of football under their belts when we play our first European game.

Jeez it sux to be us.

How were Pacheco, Sterling and Suso? I still believe Pacheco can become an important player for us and I would like him to stay.

Also, how well did we play in terms of passing and possession? Can we see the Rodgers style?

I still feel we need a top class attacker - either a striker or someone to play on the right hand side of the front 3. Just to give us some more pace and directness but as you say, we are missing some good players (thanks to Euro's and Olympics).

I see BAR is back to his old self. Top 4 is where we want to be...we are quite far off it at the moment as the last few seasons have shown. SO in the meantime I will take a Micky Mouse cup gladly. <ok>

Cole was much more involved and looked good at times, I would like to see him play central though.
Shelvey was something different, starting to look a class act and at just 20.

Was impressed with kojak last night <ok> thought his quick passing was impressive and was unlucky not to get a goal. Ch'Adam played decent when he came on as well in fairness to him.

I know Adam scored, but he also smacked a few passes straight out of play. Don't be fooled by the goal.

There were a few passes that went astray for a number of players though in fairness - I think we are going to be keeping hold of Adam, just hope there aren't moans and groans if he comes on as sub etc. cos it does the team no good, let alone the player!

We know Adam & Downing are better than what the performances were like last season so lets just hope they improve. A positive will be that they are not BR's signings so if they are shocking they will not be played <ok>

I suppose that's a good thing. One thing Kenny was guilty of was playing his signings regardless of how they played in the previous games.

I'm in a small minority where I felt that Adam did play pretty well for a small period of time which was when he alongside Lucas and before Gerrard came back. He did pick up a few assists and goals ...

I said yesterday watch shelvey... then i didn't stay up to watch it! I have it recording tonight to watch friday so I am very interested to see what shevely does and where is is playing.

If he is doing well i cannot see any reason to chuck 15mil on allen when shelvey could play the role, it'll be interesting to see as preseason goes on..... if he does go out on loan he's got a new contract so i expect he'll be a star for swansea.

He was good again, and he looks like he has filled out ( hopefully not fat!) which I think has helped him.

Shelvey for me was our MOM, overall. Adam was very effective. He scored a goal and won us a few free kicks in dangerous areas. I was also impressed by Adam's close control when he was running towards their goal. Both Cole and Adam had good and bad spells, both created and both misplaced passes and conceded possession. Pacheco looked promising again, and Suso also did some good things. McLoughlin, the 17-year-old playing right back, was also worth a mention, he outperformed most of the other defenders IMO. Pretty good pre-season so far as lots of our reserve and youth squad are getting pitch-time and, mostly, coming good! Roll on Saturday.

Agree with most, just though Jose was better than everyone is saying. He had misplaced passes, but he was solid defensively. If he can get the final ball down, he'd be lethal.

Thought Shelvey was very impressive yesterday, as was Pacheco. Looks like Pacheco is maybe stepping it up knowing this could be his last chance to make an impact at Liverpool. Looked a bit quicker than I thought he was, and took on his player aswell as getting the assist for Adam's goal.
