Roma play in Orangey/red? Although why they are wearing it to train I have no idea... going to try and stay up to watch it, although it's an early start tomorrow. Maybe have to get into work a bit late because of some "car trouble"
We have the starting line-up for tonight's game against AS Roma. Gulacsi - McLaughlin Skrtel Carragher Enrique - Spearing Shelvey Aquilani - Cole Eccleston Sterling SUBS: Jones, Agger, Flanagan, Adam, Suso, Morgan, Pacheco, Sama, Wilson, Lucas, Adorjan, Ward, Smith, Wisdom, Ibe. Looking through the team, you shall notice a surprise or two. Ryan McLaughlin gets a first ever start for the senior side at right-back whilst Sterling gets a start in a front three. The midfield looks decent enough with Aquilani given another start alongside Spearing & Shelvey.
Nope, there was an article on the website I read earlier in which Rodgers said it wasn't likely that the lads coming back from the Euros would play in this game. They ain't trained much whilst the lads starting tonight and on the bench have had about 2 weeks training. EDIT: Here is that article... http://www.lfctour.com/news/rodgers-it-s-tough-for-new-arrivals
Shame there's no Borini. I know he just joined the team, but still... I'm anxious to see the lad play. EDIT: Oh God, did I just say lad? How old am I?
Looking forward to the game immensely. By the way, has anyone seen Susos Tennis ball challenge. They were saying it was going to happen day 2 of the tour, but not seen anything yet
A bit disappointed we don't get to see Borini play but I guess it's understandable. Looking forward to kick off!
He is very good at all the technical stuff, I saw the one where he beat Suarez and Coates. Funny though as they both were just laughing and trying to cheat.
It's a shame we don't have a more experienced forward than Ecclestone & Morgan in the team. Someone the younger wide players (Sterling, Ibe, Pacheco) could play with. Speaking of Ibe, was quite impressed with him against Toronto. You could see he has a lot to learn, but like Sterling wasn't afraid to try and take on his man in the final 3rd.
Yeah saw that one too, I think if Hendo was a bit more confident on the ball then all of these technical abilities would shine through a bit more. Still he's young so he has plenty of time to improve!
Yeh Keepie Uppies......Sterling is top with 58 then Pacheco with 54.......Henderson is the master with those things...But I reckon Suso could be impressive...Want to see Carra though too
Yeah, the bet365 (or something!) challenge. Henderson was defending his 'title' against Suarez and Coates, as he'd previously beaten shelvey, downing, skertl (and Carroll - who wasn't officially competing!). Henderson also beat Oxlade-Chamberlain at tennis ball keepie ups, too, so (all things considered) I'd fancy his chances against most. Suso and Pacheco would be good, though - the latino players are always technically good. I'd personally like to see Lucas and Aquilani doing the keepie-ups challenge as I reckon they'd have good control.
I'm using sopcast, PMK, but it's always useful to have options! Borini interview was good - he seems like he's saying all the right things. Hopefully that'll translate into work rate and performances on the pitch. I can't wait for the first game he's involved in. But first things first ... game on! COYR!
