Thought I would get this going, as the play off teams are now all claimed. Reading Huddersfield Sheff Wed Fulham Of course, with one game left, the order may change so we dont know who will be playing who yet. Which of these teams will claim the 3rd PL spot up for grabs? Though I would like it to be Huddersfield (would like to see two newbies in the PL next season in Brighton and Huddersfield), my money is going to be on Jaap Stam's Reading. He has put together a tidy side there, and they have played some good football this season. They currently sit Third in the table, with one game left, which no one expected at the start of the season. They had a chance of maybe scraping the play offs, but they run Brighton and Newcastle close for an automatic promotion spot for a while. Fulham have also looked very good in recent weeks, and have been on a run for the last couple of months, displacing Leeds, who had been in a play off spot pretty much all season. So they are in with a shout. Will update when the last game is finished and we know who is playing who.
Problem for the 'Udders' is that they seem to have quite a few on loan who probably won't be avaiable next season ... but I'd love to see them come up.
If things remain as they are its Fulham v Reading and Town v Wednesday? Town have probably shown the poorest form in the run in....a lot of that has been due to them being in the top 2 race, but not quite being there and being 3rd for a long time that near the end..just scraping by would do the trick and it did. They rested 10 players for the last game. Fulham are the form team, Reading have shown form when it counts and Wednesday have been quite consistent throughout, even though a month back they were fighting with Leeds and Norwich for 6th spot it seemed. I hope Town come up but can see it being Fulham
No one else fancy Reading? I have a mate who is a Reading fan though, and he is saying he hopes they lose their last game because he doesn't want to play Fulham over two legs
That was accident though if I remember right? Nothing really against them as such. Just find them dull as ****, with a boring and passionless fanbase.
My mate is boring and passionless, so that figures! Jaap Stam has turned them in to a decent team though
I can see a PL team coming in for Stam soon to be honest. He has done really well at Reading. Leicester could do a lot worse than him if they decide not to stick with Shakespeare.
Goes without saying. Harry Redknapp is still in management But still, if we decide not to go with Shakey then i'll be gutted if Stam is the best we can get.
I want Weds to come up, big old club and about time they got back in the PL. Failing that I'd take Huddersfield for purely selfish reasons as it's a relatively close away for me Reading are a club that's just meh to me, and Fulham have a neutral stand, so that's a big **** clean off from the Tobes camp.
Huddersfield for me. Close to me in Yorkshire and was a decent away day when I have been before. New team as well. I feel like Wednesday and Fulham have more momentum though and I suspect it will be Wednesday purely because I would be ok with any but them! I don't really want Fulham as there's enough London clubs already and Reading are boring
I hope it's not Wednesday....their ground is like an oversized skip with mould on it and as far as the City goes, I haven't come across a greyer one yet.
I'm a Leicester lad and even I'd say Leicester's ****ing grim and grey compared to Sheffield. And don't get me started on ****hole Nottingham! I agree on Hillsborough though, drove by just on Sunday, like a wroughtiron tip
Not looking too grey today. Just waiting for the mrs to finish work as I finished early and speaking of Sheffield football teams it's a sea of red as United are having their parade any time now. Personally I think it's one of the nicest City centres I've seen. Hence why I stayed after uni
Probably only one you saw if you moved in after a Uni stint...it's starts to become beautiful once you hit Penistone Road and head off towards the Pennines, Manchester, Huddersfield...Sheffield has got Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster latching onto it....enough said there John.
