Yep I think when we play Newcastle, Sunderland and QPR we will get more than our share of abusive posts. Bigger the forum and the more idiots you will attract. Our forum is exempt from that if course:wink:

A lot of you have viewed the new title for the new off the topic thread. Which for the moment is closed as I am waiting for the go-ahead. Is every one happy with the title "Beefy's corner"? Or is there any alternatives for consideration?
Come on, some of you screamed and shouted you wanted this to happen you have not exactly been coming forward with suggestions for a title. Or do I take it you have gone off the idea?
Also if you still want the old one saved and just title changed just give me a good reason to argue your point to other interested parties. Come on I can't just do this on me tod...........I need your input!

Presumably because everyone has such deeply held views. Unless you discuss something everyone agrees on:

    Obama for president (again)!

Sorry mate that is a Forum rule not just a Saints one. The main reason it seems is that there is quite a lot of really divided-far apart views when discussing local politics up and down the country. Which in the early days of this forum caused major problems there were threats and allsorts. So the owner asked for us to make it a no go area. It is as he says (this particular board) a footy forum. My understanding is that you can discuss politics on either of the GC sites apparently. ( I know, I know but that is what the site was created for) It also seems for us to be allowed to continue with an off topic thread....regular board rules have got to be applied. Whether or not that is likely to be loosened in the future I don't know. We are being watched as you will recall this was an experiment which from the mods point of view has gone well I think. Hope that helps.

Actually Lampras it only states National or Local politics..... In other words anything to do with theThe British Isles. I cannot see where it says anything about overseas politics.......As long as that doesn't get out of hand personally I can't see that international politics would be that much of a problem to be honest. I'll soon know if we let the discussions go when we get our ass's kicked.......<laugh>

I think that the old thread had become so long that we will probably need to renew it from time to time. Those who use mobile devices would be especially appreciative.

So, who do you think will win the US elections? I hope Obama wins it.

Romney has significantly more funding behind his campaign, which as we know plays too much of a role in US politics. His recent balls-up with that little speech of his that got out will probably cost him though. There are a couple of states which will most likely be the difference, and thankfully Obama seems to be pulling ahead in North Carolina. I think Ohio is the other key one.

Romney is always making a hash of interviews. He says something one day then another day he contradicts himself.

The other key state is Florida, not to be confused with "Flo-Rida" the fat bastard that sings crap music.

The only problem is that most Americans don't pay attention to the content of the interviews, and they aren't knowledgeable enough to know why higher taxes can actually be better for them, and why "big government" is actually a good thing. All they want to hear is patriotic bullshit and how socialism is evil.

I think Romney will win Florida, but he needs to swing a couple of others his way and I can't see that happening.

USA! USA! USA! All you need to do is say that to them and they'll vote for you...

    They hate socialism don't they?

Socialism is a dirty word over there. Clearly they can't see the benefit of universal healthcare, welfare, state education, good public transport, good law enforcement, good fire and health departments, libraries, environmental protection, waste management and various other services that a social democracy can provide.

What's very confusing is that a large bunch of them reckon they can reduce national debt whilst also reducing taxes and not making any cuts. How is that supposed to work?
