Whoa hold on a minute - Hamilton HAS already beaten Button and may well do so again - so I don't think he needs any kind of favours. What I am saying is that equal billing isnt working - both drivers have been compromised this season by a lack of focus. Mclaren need to have a main driver who can take the fight to Ferrari and Red Bull on a level playing field and IMO that driver is Hamilton - he's already proved he can deliver when he's been number one. Similarly Alonso would have done the business at Mclaren in 2007 but couldnt because he had to share the billing once it became obvious that Hamilton was the business. I suppose thats the same weak mentality that Alonson couldnt break in 2007. It was Alonso who lost that mental battle and flipped.
McLaren have been hindered by the lack of a car capable of beating Seb Vettel consistently, mainly due to their new design, it has nothing to do with which driver they are focusing on, if they were to focus on a driver it would be Button, as he is more likely to win a WDC as he manages to finish races consistently, if it hadn't been for mechanicl reliability Button could be over 50 points ahead of him by now.
Mercedes need a bit of consistency and positiveness, they are a hard-working team. There is no wrong in what they are doing at the moment. Michael for a 42 year old was driving very, very fast in the no.7 car in Singapore. His misjudgment caused him to crash, that is all.. I am sure that the races approaching such as Suzuka will bring out the best in him. He is only 10 points behind Rosberg, big improvement from last year. He is a tough and ruthless racer. The biggest factor that makes him stand out is his approach to criticism, he does not waver under it, he eats it for breakfast-lunch and tea. I am sure he will make mince of the other teams exc.(top 3) in the up and coming races.
How much did you wanna put on? $500? $600? My personal bet is around the outside of 130R. DRS will get him alongside just before the turn and Alonso will defend the inside.
I dont know if anybody read the BBC gossip column a few days before the race but they had a bit at the bottem about Hiekki and the airline he was flying with loosing all his baggage on arriving in singapore. well it turns out they lost it again on his way back how unlucky is that?!
If anyone wishes to discuss the Hamilton/Massa argument in further detail, there is a section on www.topgear.com/uk dedicated to playing the role of a steward in the matter. Not go into personal details or anything like that. Just a good, clean discussion. Of course, some of the people on that site seem a bit nuts, but that's normal
When Rosberg hit Perez and took him off the track, why didn't he give back the position? Perez was ahead at the time and got taken off the track through no fault of his own. The least Rosberg should have done is give back the position.
