I expect it to be Vettel leading most of the laps until Maldanado turns up. Vettel will think better than turning into the corner and will go miles off line whilst Maldanado chases his sidepods. After all this has calmed down I expect a Webber, Vettel, Hamilton podium with Hamilton's car getting attacked on the warm down lap. Some of that may not come true
Looks like another bad pitstop is on the way for Hamilton http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100904
Maybe McLaren though bionic arms were quicker and end up doing one stop in 0.7seconds and then in the second stop one of the mechanics will go insane and run off with one of the wheels?
Michael added that McLaren's right-rear gunner, who was cut by an endplate on Hamilton's car in Valencia during a pitstop, is recovering well. "He has recovered very well and he may be back for Silverstone," said Michael. "But we have a backup plan in case he's not." Lewis and Jensons radio: "We're sorry guys but you're going to have to make these tyres last the whole race, we forgot to bring a backup on the rear right." Im only joking but you do have to wonder what issue it will be this weekend.
Hamilton: "Guys I need a bit more front wing" At next stop Hamilton watches in dismay as they superglue a second front wing to his car.
Of course... It wouldnt be normal superglue the other teams use. The tube of UltraGlue(TM) explodes causing the car to be firmly stuck onto the road and the clumsy pit team member who had his leg in front of the left rear tyre
I think we need to give up slamming the Mclaren pit crew, yes they make mistakes from time to time, but this does not cover the fact that they stand, trusting Lewis to arrive at 60mph to a halt in line with them, a slight deviation could knock a mechanic and seriously harm him. Pit-mistakes happen all the time, it is just chance that it has happened so often. Some drivers have had much more worse luck. So calm down a bit.
There's a big difference from making the 'odd' mistake to mucking up a pit stop at basically every race, none of the other top teams are doing it so there are no excuses from McLaren.
Continuity and progress is needed, it is east for a viewer from an outside view to pile on so much pressure collectedly. Same thing with Mercedes, I got worked up about it recently, but "After the storm.......... the sun always comes out".
I know but surely a team like McLaren who constantly battle for championships year after year should be able to avoid making so many errors, while the pit guys are under a lot of pressure the simple fact of the matter is that all of their nearest rivals are not making anywhere near the same amount of mistakes in the pits which could be crucial in such a tight championship race
Plenty of races to go mate, chin up, keep faith. I almost nearly lost it. Things can change in a second.
Button sourness, or the truth? http://www.sportlive.co.za/motorsport/2012/07/02/button-confused-by-alonso-arse-kissing
Yeah read that the other day, maybe he feels a bit left out of the whole Alonso/Hamilton love in recently, to be fair i think he clarified his comments on twitter
I think Button is spot on, Vettel was pulling away at an average of nearly one second per lap, Grosjean was flying, Sauber screwed up Kobay, Alonso was lucky, but that isn't to detract away from his win, but Button rightly saw Vettels performance as the stand out of Valencia.
Hamilton purely because of the rain. Mclaren have probably lost him the championship already but if they want a chance they'll need to make improvements AND pray for tons of rain.
He's having a rough patch, the team keep screwing him over in favour of that Perez twerp. EDIT: No offence meant to Checo Perez, i just prefer Kamui.
