Probably because they would be going X amount slower so the overall force on the tyre is lowered. However, this has to be offset by the reduced weight in the car so its difficult to get a true reflection of the ultimate pace V longevity of the tyre.
Thanks, Forza. That's what I was referring to. It was the shoulder, not the whole tyre wall. I thought the commentary team said Vettel had radioed in that the tyres were "all over the place" but Ninja corrected this earlier to 'the balance is all over the place' so, yeah, tyre problems could be more to do with trying to make a non-EBD car work than not being able to control the exhaust with the new systems. They should have learned a lesson about camber last year. It's still far too early to garner anything conclusive but if the sliver of an image we've had so far turns into a full picture then a lot of questions raised over the last two seasons will be answered this year.
Guess I'll be happy with 3rd this weekend. Hopefully it chucks it down so to even things out and he will have a good chance for the win.
any car thats skitish in the dry will be fun once it gets damp. Problem might go away with wets on though.
All else being equal, fuel saving always makes life easier for the tyres. The biggest performance difference during fuel saving is on acceleration - although this itself will cause top speed to be slightly reduced; but it is acceleration, braking and cornering that really work the tyres, so reducing the effects of one of these factors is bound to help the tyres to some extent.
What is Brundle doing in Pic's cockpit? What a prat. "I expect you drove this track in GP2, yeah?" "No." "Do you think you'll like it?" "I won't know till I get out there." "OK, well I'd like to meet you in person." "I am in person." Sheesh.
Sky is going down the pan and it hasn't even been the 2nd race. Me and my old man are already considering of dropping Sky F1 as it's 70% repeats and rip offs from the Internet, 10%you could say are adverts, the last other 20% is actual racing... BBC have upped their game IMO.
Did I read Sky got 1.1m viewers, yet BBC last year got 3m same race ??? Wow. source http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2012/03/22/uk-tv-audience-falls-one-million-sky-first-f1-race/
1.1m is quite healthy for a subscription channel. That was its peak though - I think the average was around half a million. I'd expect Sky's figures to rise, too, as we get into lunchtime races. The BBC got more viewers for its highlights programme this year than it got for last year's live race, but again that's because it was on at 2pm instead of 6am.
Yeah the guardian reported on it a few days ago, down 75% compared to last year. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/mar/19/sky-australian-grand-prix
Not surprising. based on what everyone has said on here, if you watch Sky F1 you may as well be a Nazi, so based on not606 members boycotting it alone that would account for most of the lost viewing figures..........
Interesting how closely the number of official Sky Sports F1 viewers correlates with the number of BNP voters (I'm not the one that brought up Nazis ) Seriously, you've got to say those are actually quite good figures all things considered.
please log in to view this image Does that mean he loses? Seriously, allsaintschris? "Everyone"? I haven't criticised anyone who has Sky. I made my choice but it's not my intention to even attempt to make anyone feel uncomfortable about theirs. Unless you were only following orders, of course. Friday press conference.
My guess for the top ten at the end of the race: 1)Button 2)Hamilton 3)Raikkonen 4)Vettel 5)Webber 6)Grosjean 7)Rosberg 8)Alonso 9)Schumacher 10)Kobayashi
I have a little inkling that Webber might beat Vettel on Sunday. I know Vettel got the better result in Australia and that they've been on different programmes today but I have a feeling that something's changed.
