Yeah, but if you're going to use league finishing positions as a reason to vote for Robert.. we finished 2nd twice when Ginola was here! Those two season were gold too!

Ginola. One of the most gifted footballers to ever don the shirt. Ridiculous when he first joined in his pomp. Both feet, 6ft odd, strong as an ox, silky body movement and vision of the highest order. He was quite simply impossible to mark and a full backs nightmare. Throw in he could take free kicks and scored goals, spectacular ones, he was just awesome. All that and he smoked 4 or 5 a day!

Voted Ginola. Then realised nobody voted for Jonas and felt bad.

    Poor Jonas :(

Robert was good when he was interested but went missing too much. A great left foot and one of the best dead ball kickers in the game, but Ginola's overall game was better.

Ginola went missing both years after Christmas, remember he never recovered in the first season after the League Cup match at Arsenal.

Robert > Ginola - anyone who disagrees never watched them play.

Robert was atrocious in his last season. Never beat the first man from a dead ball, took more shots than any other player in the league and scored 3 goals. Then there was his attitude, lazy and selfish, he truly tarnished a good reputation.

Robert and Ginola can't really be compared, Ginola was a showman with a huge array of skill and ability that made him a legend in the British game. Robert was a folk hero who could kick the ball really hard.

    What about Waddle?

Robert was good for us but Ginola was a far better and more talented player. He was spellbinding at his best. We got it to, the rest just got his later years. I liked Laurent though, him and Nobby was so well balanced. Just ability wise, Ginola was in a different world. If only France could have got him and Cantona going together!

19-19 Robert and Ginola. This is going to be tight.

Waddle wasn't with us in the PL he left in the 1980's, also Ginola only scored 2 goals in his final season against Man Utd and Ferenvacros. Remember him shooting from the halfway line when Lee Clark had an open goal. Having said all that I did actually vote for Ginola as he did have more class.

Must say, it's going to be strange seeing an all time premier league newcastle without Ginola.

I'm voting Jonas and Robert glued together. Jonas' running and pace combined with Roberts shots and crosses would be a terrifying prospect. Pretty sure Olly Bernards hip would've been glad of the cover too.

Also, can we stop all the 'if you've voted for him, you obviously didn't see ...' posts, otherwise I'm going to name Stephen Glass the best winger ever to wear boots, and if you disagree Tash is your mum.

Ah!I missed the whole whole question due to my iPhone. My point re: Roberts goals wasn't the lack if goals, just the amount of time he wasted smashing it over the bar from 40 yards for a whole season.
