Ahh ok, ya ya I agree with that. I think what pains me with those two are they are suppose to provide width. Enrique kept dribbling into trouble and thus letting Wigan get back every time and Downing, what was he today LM, RM, AM, he was all over and someone already put his decision making was really bad. Our CM's is looking less reagal at this point too ( partly pairings, partly not natural CM bar Adam, and loss of Lucas).
The defence wasn't broken. Johnson, Skrtel and Agger have been in our defence for ages now. Only that Agger has returned to fitness finally. Enrique was a gem, as I said. Our net spend means nothing, we got rid of dead wood that never touched our starting XI, how does that affect how we spend the 100 million income? Was Henderson a good buy at 17 million? How about Corrol at 35? Downing at 20? It's obscene when you consider Aguero and Mata went in those price ranges and not even the media made a whimper about us in negotiations with either player, so it's not like they turned us down. We have bought poorly, theres nothing more to it.
When Giggs was 32 he played week in, week out. Why can't Bellars? Truly abysmal performance yet again by both Adam and Downing. Rate neither of them higher than a 3/10. Henderson done well considering he basically ran the midfield. Suarez not his usual self, but completely isolated due to lack of support from maxi and kuyt. Carroll should've started IMHO, as should have Bellamy and Shelvey in place of Adam Kuyt and Downing. Very disappointed if this continues no matter how much we adore him, Kenny's position may have to start being looked at deeply. Mehhhh
haha, I can be critical but it is just so damn frustrating that when I look at our schedule I see City, probable win, Chelsea, def win, Burnley OH ****! How we have gotten to this point is a big problem on why we have slipped so far down the line, along with the H&G, Hodgson, and all that jazz.
True, he didn't add much. But then again he's a left back and we kept a clean sheet. So if he did his job defensively then I'm not really gonna critisize his attacking performance as that's not really his main purpose. downing and maxi can take the fall for the failure to get behind the Wigan defence.
All I can say is hopefully Comolli has been busy and thank the Lord that January is right around the corner because we might need it!
Enrique HAS to dribble down the left to provide the width that Downing fails to provide as he's usually running with the ball towards the right wing aimlessly. Downing is crap, usually goes backwards to sidewards and never forwards on his flank. Kuyt has no end product, whether it be a pass or a shot. He'll always **** up the final ball. Maxi I actually thought was fine, he links up nicely with Enrique and Suarez - by no means a terrible performance. Henderson was quiet but someone needs to sit back, he's no Lucas/Spearing but at least he put a shift in tonight. Adam had a shocker. I had zero faith in him scoring that penalty and he didn't (or did) disappoint. Missplaced passes all night, poor set pieces except one. Back 4 I was happy with generally, they just lack midfield protection atm. Downing/Kuyt really need to be dropped if we want to win games like this. Not enough quality.
Defensively he was fine but it was getting right on my tits when he would bomb forward for no reason or just hold onto the ball too long. Kuyt was missing to with that and was anyone else wondering why we dicked with the ball around the box so much? If you have the occasional shot the defense will step out and then you can look for those slotting passes. Wanted to be a bit too pretty around the box. Oh and Al habsi, another keeper with a stunning game ( Shock!)
I am for Enrique dribbling forward, what I guess I am trying to say is the timing and the amount today was wrong. Normally he is very good at the balance. I think you are also on with Enrique and Downing just do not work well together.
If Downing touches the ball 5/6 times when he gets the ball again , I think I will find him, and knock his f**kin block off.The way to play is 1/2 touch move the ball quick, if you play 1/2 touch , it doesnt matter how good the defence are, we have FAR too many players who arnt good enough for LFC .Kenny wont even bring Carroll on , he knows hes that sh**e, he spent £35m on him Downing and not Mata/Cazorla by Kenny FU**IN ABSOLUTE F**KIN MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starting to think this whole "goalkeeper was class" thing is just shifting the real problem that is our finishing is ****ing beyond woeful. We struggled to create REAL clear cut chances today, the three that come to mind are kuyts shot, straight at him, Johnson one on one, atrocious finish and then the penalty, don't ****ing get me started, if your gonna go down the middle (which I NEVER think you should) don't put it at the perfect height for the keeper to get his fist too. Jesus to all the doubters about gerrard doing a job when he comes back, his penalties alone will do

He doesn't offer any penetration at all. I've reserved judgement on him thus far, but I feel it's time to say he hasn't impressed me. Always squaring it, or cutting in and playing a **** pass into a crowded zone. I'd be happier if he merely sprinted to the by-line and whipped a cross in every time. Moses, on the other hand... Bid in January?
