Suarez, should start, its a bang from a challenge rather than a muscle pull, so therefore less risk of something happenin.Besides I think he miles more important to us at the mo than Gerrard or Torres EVER were.Plus we have an easier game v Swansea the week after, so I think its worth the risk

Dalglish reveals selection dilemma...

Kenny Dalglish admits Liverpool's performance in the victory at Stoke City has left him with a big selection headache ahead of Saturday's trip to West Brom. The boss made eight changes to his line-up for the Carling Cup showdown with the Staffordshire outfit and was left delighted by the contribution of everyone who featured in the 2-1 success.

Dalglish insists the strength of his squad means he is faced with a difficult decision ahead of every match but concedes that the nature of the triumph has left him with food for thought going into the meeting with the Baggies.

Dalglish said: "I think we alluded to it immediately after the game; how pleased we were with the effort and commitment of the players. If they hadn't have approached the game in that way then they wouldn't have got anything out of it. They did fantastically well. We are very pleased with the work that they did. Sometimes some of the hard work that they put in goes unrecognised, but they certainly had to put in a very good shift to win the match."

He added: "Every game you go into gives you a selection problem. I suppose there is a wee bit more added to that after we got such a positive result at Stoke City, and after playing so well. It's a nice position to be in.

"The more players we have to pick from then the better chance we have of being successful. We are delighted, like we have said many times before, with the strength of the squad and the effort and the commitment from them all. They got their reward the other night. The boys who don't play as often went out there and did very well. It does give you a problem for the next game."

The Reds created a whole raft of chances at the Britannia Stadium and looked like coming up against a similar situation to the one they faced at home to Norwich when Stoke took the lead on the stroke of half-time.

A second-half double from Luis Suarez ensured Dalglish was not left lamenting missed opportunities once again and he is confident his team will improve their conversion ratio sooner rather than later.

"I suppose everybody is a bit more conscious of it. It's not just the one game against Norwich, we had it the game before against United too when we should have won the game and missed a couple of chances," he said.

"The most important thing for us is to be creating chances. We try to cover every option that we can, but you cannot replicate what happens on the pitch. To be fair, the boys went out on Wednesday night and created another six really good chances in the first half. They got their reward by winning the match.

"We'll continue to do our best to create chances and see where that takes us."

Liverpool head to West Brom on Saturday looking to return to winning ways following back-to-back home draws in the league.

Dalglish has enjoyed great success on his previous visits to the Hawthorns - but points to last season's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Roy Hodgson's men as proof that records will count for nothing when the two sides lock horns tomorrow.

"I don't think played one lost one is a good record is it? That's what we have got recently," he quipped.

"You don't get your reward for tomorrow because of what happened last year, you get what you get for what you do on the day. We know it's a difficult place to go and that the onus is on ourselves to put in a decent performance. If we do that, we'll take our chances with anybody."

He continued: "I think they lost three or four out of the first four or five games.

"Like I say, we got beat there last year so we know what we are up against. Every game is different and we're hoping this one will be different as well. We can only prepare ourselves the best we can. Roy will do the same for his team. They've picked up well after an unsteady start and are sitting there very comfortably."

West Brom will be without Republic of Ireland star Shane Long for the clash with the Reds but Dalglish insists the hosts will still have enough in their armoury to challenge his side.

"I'm sure they have a few who can come in and replace him," he said. "They will be disappointed as he was a big signing in the summer but it gives someone else an opportunity."

Dalglish was also asked about racism in football.

He added: "It has to be proved before you accuse. I don't think it's prevalent in the game here and certainly not at this football club. We've got a case going on ourselves which seems to be dragging its feet. We'd rather have it done and dusted.

"Whoever the guilty party is; the person who said or the accuser should get their rightful punishment. So we'll look forward to ours coming to a conclusion. But I don't see racism, as far as this club is concerned anyway, apparent in any way, shape or form."

Suarez fitness update...

Kenny Dalglish has today revealed that he will leave it until the last minute to decide whether Luis Suarez will face West Brom on Saturday. The striker picked up an ankle knock during the Carling Cup success at Stoke City and the boss admitted he has since undergone treatment at Melwood.

Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "He's had a bit of treatment so we'll see how he is. He's had a tough time recently, so we'll see how he is tomorrow."

Suarez's magnificent brace in the triumph over Tony Pulis's men had the boss struggling for superlatives during his post-Stoke press conference.

He admits he has been delighted by the former Ajax star's overall contribution since moving to Anfield and reckons he is proving to be a great ambassador for the Reds.

"I said it the other night, my vocabulary ran out within a week when the wee man came here," said Dalglish.

"He's been fantastic and the great thing him about him is that he is very unassuming as well. Everybody can see what he can do on the pitch. He's got no edge to him. He doesn't think he is better than anyone else and he's fantastic in and around the football club. He's a great ambassador for the club as well.

"So for us, as well as his football, the other things he brings to the club are important as well.

"If we do have someone else capable of doing that then we need to get him on the pitch as well, at the same time as the wee man. He's only been here since January and we are already running out of compliments to pay him. That in itself is a huge compliment I suppose."

Steven Gerrard was a notable absentee during the Carling Cup encounter in the Potteries but Dalglish was quick to rebuff any queries surrounding his fitness.

"It's just part of the course of sensibility, I think, with both him and Glen Johnson," said Dalglish. "There's nothing wrong. They both could have played if they had to play. It was our choice."

Asked if he had any other injury doubts for the showdown at the Hawthorns, Dalglish added: "More or less it's a full squad."

Jan Molby on West Brom and Hodgson...

This weekend sees Liverpool travel to face West Bromwich Albion, and offers a chance to renew acquaintances with Roy Hodgson, writes Jan Molby in the Echo. And while a few Liverpool supporters would be pleased to get one over on their former manager, I have to say I don't see any reason for any hostility towards Roy.

Sure, Liverpool need the three points, and it is always nice to get a good win away from home. But that is it.

We all know that Roy's time in charge of Liverpool was, well, pretty poor to say the least. A lot of his signings flopped, and his style of tight, disciplined football just didn't suit the players he had at his disposal. Maybe he did underestimate the size of the job he took on, or maybe there is more to it.

But whatever the reasons for his failure at Anfield, he has moved on and so have Liverpool. And I think even Roy would admit, although perhaps not publicly, that the side looks 30 or 40 per cent better since Kenny has come in and changed things around.

Nonetheless, Roy did his best at Anfield. He had a plan which didn't work, but he left with dignity, and has since bounced back impressively at West Brom. There should be no need for any hostility towards him from a Liverpool perspective, and I am sure there won't be.

As for the game itself, well three or four weeks ago I would have said Liverpool would be going there and rolling over West Brom.

They were struggling badly, but they have produced two excellent results in derby wins over Wolves and Aston Villa, and so their tails will be up.

Liverpool have struggled with Hodgson sides in the past - his Fulham team were organised, drilled and awkward to play against, for example, but they will have confidence themselves after a good win up the road at Stoke in midweek.

Woy Hodgeson opens his fat gob and spouted..

HODGSON: REDS UNDER PRESSURE

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson believes his former club Liverpool are under pressure to claim a Champions League spot this season after their spending spree under Kenny Dalglish.

The Scott has spent around Â£100 million on players since replacing the sacked Hodgson in January although Â£50million was recouped from the sale of Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

It is in stark contrast to the scenario that greeted Hodgson at the club when he replaced Rafael Benitez - staving off the possibility of going into liquidation.

That threat never materialised but Hodgson does believe current owner John W Henry will not be happy with a mid-table slot after the money he has invested.

Hodgson said: "The situation now is vastly different to the situation I had but I realised when I went in there that there was going to be a change of ownership and these things can always happen.

"But Liverpool now need to be aiming for a top four finish because that's what the investment is for.

"I don't think the new owners are investing all this money for them to be a mid-table team.

"There is no doubt the pressure on Liverpool to finish in the top four is similar to the pressure many of the clubs in the Premier League have to survive."

You still don't get it Woy, do you? Every year there is pressure to finish at least top 4, the fact that you didn't grasp that, is why we kicked you out, we were never happy with mid table, and since that is all you were aiming for... What is the point of being at a club if there is no pressure to be the best?? Is that what it is like with the baggies, as long as they don't go down, everyone is happy?!?!

In other news, I saw Peter Gulacsi wandering around Tesco Xtra in Hull this afternoon. Tall bastard. I thought about getting his autograph or a photo, but he ****ed off pretty sharpish. I don't think anyone besides me recognised him either.

I think we are due a clean sheet. I also think we are also due to hand out a pasting, if we put away our chances, that is. However, I can't see a large win today.

I'll go for a clean 0-1 or 0-2 win. A draw would annoy me immensely - and I'll be p*ssed off all day, and not get anything done!
