This is the first game in about three or four years that I am not 100% watching! Not that interested as its a nothing game, especially with Everton winning too. I watch friendlies if I can but never give it 100% concentration, this game is just like the pre-season games!
Not suprising... Swansea have a decent home record and we can't score this season. Has a 0-0 or 1-0 win written all over it.
Half-Time: Swansea City 0-0 Liverpool. A pretyy uneventful first-half. Doni has produced a couple of good saves but it's been a scrappy game with no real clear-cut chances for either side. Has to improve in the second-half
Swansea's tactics are smart - they make up for their lack of quality with suffocating tactics that allow them a much greater chance. They must play with a lot of belief from their manager, and it is certainly effective.
From a Swansea perspective, it doesn't seem like a scrappy game at all. We're playing keep ball (like we do all the time) to try and tire your players out and to keep the ball away from your star players. It feels like we're controlling the possession and putting you under good pressure when you've got it. Dyer is usually our main outlet going forward, but he's been relatively quiet and poor for the majority of the half. He started to come to life at the end of the half and if he continues to find that kind of space, I predict we'll get a couple of goals. I can't comment about whether you'll score because you're feeding off scraps at the moment. But you've got players to score goals out of nothing (Carroll in the air, and Suarez... well... anywhere on the pitch). Still got the potential for a few goals yet!
Swansea are totally out-passing us and out-pressing us. We should be be the happiest that it is 0-0 at half-time. We need to get the ball and keep it. Lacklustre from us at the moment.
Seeing as our record signing is just £3.5 million our quality has to be in our team play. We can't afford any superstars who will consistently produce some game winning magic a la Suarez, so the lads make up for it by playing for and supporting each other. Let's be fair, we do it quite well. Liverpool is the team with the big money signings in this game (yes, I am jealous ) so they should be dominating the match. They didn't in the first half and Swansea have more than matched them. Just hope we can continue doing it in the second half.....
Started watching the City game, Barton has just lost the plot, did a Terry on Aguero then decided to attempt a headbutt on someone else! Madness
Downing off, Bellamy on. Another dull and invisible performance from Stewart, biggest disappointment of the season by a mile.
