Every manager needs time to build success. Football has gained a terrible culture for sacking managers. But look who the two teams that have always been around the top of the premier league are, they both have managers who have been in charge of the clubs for a very long time, and both were not popular at first. I am talking about Ferguson and Wenger. Neither had instant success, and both have had bad times, but they were given time to build success and fix bad patches.

Other teams, like Chelsea and Newcastle, have lad short to term successes and times where they were very close to success, but it never last, and managers have come and go over and over again.

I'd hate it if Liverpool became a sacking club.

We have issues in the team, but our squad and playing style has got better. But success is not instant.

They've managed to build a new stadium, lose top players, spend hardly anything and still remain more competitive than us

Interpret my words how you like! United do just find with both. I was refering to how we have been run for the last 20 years- failing to adapt to modern football which is why we are so far behing now.

Thank you, we desperately needed the three points today, and a comeback like that (even if you did help us a bit) is a huge confidence boost. You are still a big team to beat. Hope Kenny tears a strip off your guys and you come back to smash Wigan

We had a clueless board when Rafa was sacked. This lot seem to have their heads screwed on, Kenny should and will get this summer to make the right signings. Another year of regression in the league and they will have to consider his position.

The over-reactions on here are ridiculous but our last ten games in the league has been relegation standard and things have to change. The main problem, for me, is that too many players seem to pick and choose which games they turn up for. Kenny has do something about that because we can't overhaul the squad again in the summer.

Tonight, in itself, was a complete freak as no-one could have predicted our defence capitulating like that but the dreadful league form can't be ignored forever.

THe side that says patience will say patience, the side that says we need to be more cut throat and modern will be there, I think what we all need to remember is this:

Is this good enough? Is it really good enough? No. Cups we have been good, but in the league, no and that has to be our number 1 priority next year.

Kenny isn't a young Wenger or Ferguson though, he is 61. We're not going to build a long term dynasty with him. Rafa was the man to do that and we got rid of him, whether it would be correct to bring him back I don't know. We have so many average players that it would be hard for any manager to achieve great success with them but I do feel mistakes have been made as well as some positives. I don't feel Kenny is the man to take us forward in the long term but I wouldn't like to see him sacked out of respect for the man. I would have no problem with Kenny being in charge next season but if it pans out the same then there can be no questions left, the reality would be obvious.

Mentality, we are piss poor with it and the fact we can play United, Chelsea, City off the park and then have games like Bolton and this show that needs to be worked on. When we buy players they also need to be of a strong character for me as well, winners, not just skillful, but a team of players wanting to win and play for the shirt and what we stand for.

Add that and finishing to the possession we play and things will be much better for me <ok>

every manager needs time is a cop out. kenny has not shown anything all season that suggests he is none other than a average manager, liverpool needs a much better manager who is above average, I love the guy but im not going to say he is better than he is when its plain to see he is not......A true liverpool legend he is but as a manager for a team like liverpool then he just dont cut to the chase....

Average players? Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez excellent, spine hardly average, there will be more investment in summer, next season will be Kenny's team, a team where the new players will be settled. Judge Kenny at the end of next year. Now jog on back to the Arsenal board, muppet <doh>

I honestly think Rafa is waiting for us, I think he wants another crack of the whip and Liverpool is in his blood. When Kenny's time is up, I would take Rafa, a rejuvenated Rafa like the one in 05-07, not the war torn rafa after that. As I said earlier, I wanted Rafa to stay, he had one bad season and we got rid ( old board and H&G saw the chance to axe him), but would have him back with open arms <ok>

This is my last word on this subject.

Kenny brought it a lot of players as we didn't have a squad, some of those players have not done well but we now have a squad. In the summer Kenny will look to buy a maximum of 3 players all costing a lot of money, it's quality now that we have the quantity. We have some promising youth that will also make a difference replacing older players like Maxi.

If there is not an improvement I believe Kenny will step down. In the meantime we should support him and the team.

We should not be having a go at each other and as fans we should not be having a go at Kenny Dalglish.

B4F you are leading the charge imo and should back down on this. Opinion is fine but when it is causing a rift between our own fans then it's not productive.

Baz he is no wum, ease up on picking fights with ourselves the opinions are going to be polarized mate, just try to take it and have a good debate. I am trying but it is hard, but we need each other on here <ok>

Many have already named that spine but outside of that, at the moment, still too average. But why we can do well in Cups but not the league, in cups we can "get up" for it but for some reason not the league. As I said earlier, this summer will be massive for Kenny and he really has to get it right.

If you go back in the thread then you will see those are the players I listed as not average <ok> those are our only non-average players. And anyway, if we have such excellent players then surely its kennys fault that we are underperforming so badly, no? People who disagree with you aren't wums, you remind me of KPR
