One or two seem to have lost the plot, back to the football! Expecting a really lively game on Sunday, we're hearing that both Ryan Taylor and Tiote are now fit, massive boost for us, as Coloccini will be a big loss to us. Worried about Suarez, Williamson is not the best defender, and we tend to lose discipline at the back when Coloccini is not playing. Being a total jinx, won't predict the result, but really looking forward to this game!
Seen plenty of goal-fests over the years between the two teams so could be another one...or we might just keep hitting the post Hope he plays Carroll up top with Luis personally and if not then we need to get a lot of midfield support up with him. Ba and Ben Arfa are class acts when they're on form and Cisse looking decent so far as well so need a big effort from the lads at the back
Guy's i'll take responsibility for that wum - he's followed back from the Newcastle board. Can I just say though - stop taking the bait so easy. You stop feeding the ducks - they move on! Back to Newcastle; I find their lack of confidence quite odd. I some of their recent seasons has made them scarred! We're getting that way too. We played very well against them earlier in the season. Maybe we'll see the same.
Soz mate but he did say Chris's match threads are **** so that was like a red rag Massive credit to Newcastle and Pardew for what has been a very good season for them this year played some good football, dealt with the odd bad result by not dwelling on it and bouncing back well. Always been one of my fave grounds to go up to and so many classic games to look back on over the years, not getting up there this weekend so will be shouting and throwing things at the TV instead....COYR
I can't help it, I expect us to win every game we go into. I know we can't/don't but it's the only attitude I can take. I just can't go through the build-up to a game with a negative attitude, it doesn't sit right. Newcastle have surprised me how well they've played this season and all credit to them. It'll be a tough game, but surely we're due a win? I can't see us scoring too many though-the woodwork's already probably trembling in anticipation. 2-1 to us.
We have no Coloccini for this match and we have to play with Perch and Williamson... so I'm not confident.
If we had Coloccini I'd be confident of a win. But Perch and Williamson CB pairing has to be the ****test pair in the league. I'm going for 2-3 to Liverpool
Expecting Perch to be ok to be honest, he looked good for us last week, just need to be disciplined at the back, Willo definitely our weak link!
Set up to be a cracker. Both sides have injuries and whilst we're weakened at the back with our Skipper's recent injury, we're a real force up front, full of pace, strength and a devastating finisher in Cissé (Instinctive though, can't have it all I guess). Not going to make a prediction personally, but here's to a decent game that we can all enjoy
Very good, detailed thread! No Colo is going to be a huge loss but if Tiote's back and roaring I see us dominating the midfield. You'll score though so its just a matter of our front 3 scoring more!
We'll have to score 3 or 4 to win, because of Perch/Willo at the back. Not looking forward to it. Lawro embarrassing himself with his reasoning for his prediction, 13 paragraphs on Liverpool and 2 on Newcastle(one mentioning Liverpool as well). Doesn't even try to hide his bias in his predictions.
Hopefully, this will be a return to the high scoring games of the past. Unfortunately, I do not see us winning though. My prediction is 3-2 to Newcastle.
This tactic hasn't been much good of late, Zingy. Perhaps you should go back to saying we'll hammer 'em?
