Hey Red - don't believe in unity then? We all agreed that New labour was bollocks. Now that MUST be a first on this thread. However, we've now returned to sanity and will start arguing again with Carroll being the first topic
this is a vital game for us , this is probably our toughest game left bar oil fc away, if we can get a win i think we have a really good chance to win the title , this would be a great achievement considering our best defender is out all season, our goalkeeper doesnt know whether hes in manchester or malaga, and our two best players are 37 yeas old
We should bring back Thatcher! Those Argies are getting uppity again! What we should do is give them that Malvinas place they keep banging on about - to placate them - and then we can keep the falklands! On the other hand, the other option is what the great peacemaking-legend-with-the-high-collars Harry Hill often suggests... ..."FIGHT!"
for me the scousers dont score enough goals if they had turned four of their draws into wins at home theyd be chasing the yids for third place, i hope they do attack us because id very confident our forwards would punish a defence which that is suspect against pace
False bravado: a pretentious, swaggering display of courage. Adv: Internet hardman, giving it large, hiding behind the safety of his/her(s) computer/laptop
It only takes 1 goal to win the game warrior. Yes our goalscoring has been abysmal but if you look at the stats you'll see our ratio of shots on and of target is 2nd to none. Our defence has been great this season. Your defence is the worst utd have had in recent years and your goalie is a flapper. 1-0 to us.
We are well aware that our profligacy in front of goal plus the number of times we've hit the woodwork and the number of penalties we've missed has cost us dearly. Liverpool are very unlikely to attack you. It will be more likely that we keep it very tight in midfield and look for counter-attacks. However, I would dearly like to know why you think our defence is vulnerable to pace? It hasn't been so so far this season
Not sure I follow that one. Our defense is second only to MCFC, and Agger and Skrtl are fairly quick (especially Danny!). Think you'll possibly win, but - if you do - more likely from a good finish / penalty / free kick than getting in behind our defense.
Indeed. I sense some form of controversy in this game. NOT looking forward to it! Just want all the histrionics to pass by and get back to JUST football.
from what ive seen this season in defence you've done well, but think that could be because in lots of games you have played five in midfield, gerrard even though hes a very good footballer doesn't look as much an attacking threat has he used to be possibly due to injury, i think johnson is suspect defensively to
AW: Johnson's actually been rock-solid defensively this season. Most people - usually those who don't watch him 'week in week out' - judge him as bad, defensively. He might have been like that when he first joined us but has gone from strength to strength in that area. As for the midfield, we pack the midfield to utilize the wings more. And, although our delivery from there has not been the best, it's our finishing which has cost us - not our attacking ability. If we change nothing but our finishing ratio, we'll improve markedly.
