You lot are trying to jinx the game by conceding defeat before a ball is kicked. I say you score early we then hit the bar 10 times in 1 game setting a new PL record. Colloccini will then smash one into his own net in the 90th. 1-1
Think he'll get booed, not so much because he left but because of how he went about leaving, forcing through a move to a team not even in Europe. If he'd given it another year or so he could have got himself a move to Man United or someone. Despite this I'm still satisfied that he left with footballing reasons in mind though so I wouldn't bother. Also think a lot of the attention will be deflected off him because Carroll will get ripped to shreds by our travelling fans.
I can certainly see this thread turning a bit hostile durind and/or after the game. To be fair there's been lots of decent discussion between both sets of fans on this thread (if you ignore Tash being childish), which is even more impressive given the amount of hatred that seems to be reserved for Liverpool from some members of our board (including me ).
Enrique wont get a positive reaction, but most hatred will be aimed at Carroll so he'll probably get off much lighter than if Carroll wasn't playing.
Personally I think it's going to be one of those games that either side could win otherwise I think it will be a draw.It could be 2-1 or it could be 1-2 r it could e 2-2, all a possibility.
Looking at results over the last 20 years is irrelevant, as teams fluctuate far too much. However, what is relevant is Liverpool's recent home results this season: Liverpool 1 - 1 Blackburn Liverpool 1 - 0 QPR Liverpool 1 - 1 Man City Liverpool 0 - 0 Swansea Liverpool 1 - 1 Norwich Liverpool 1 - 1 Man Utd The combination of Liverpool's superb defence this season, combined with their struggle to score goals, means that virtually every game has been very low scoring for both sides - from lower teams like Blackburn, to very powerful attacking teams like Man City. Our attacking prowess is still in good shape with the likes of Ba and Ben Arfa, so I expect us to have enough oomph to at least score one goal, or perhaps even a rare two goals with Lucas now out. Our defence is also looking in good shape again, and Liverpool have taken an attacking blow with no Suarez. Combining every factor, this smacks of being a low scoring (or even no scoring) game, such as a draw or one goal win. I think the pattern of high scoring entertaining games will come to an end with this one.
Got to say Chappaz, noticed a few times Liverpool having ****e home results then turning us over, so don't take anything for granted, they have beat us more times at home than anyone else in the history of the Premier League.
Head-To-Head. Newcastle have only beaten Liverpool once at Anfield in the Premier League, back in April 1994. The Reds have won their last three matches against Newcastle at Anfield 3-0. Liverpool have won eight of their past 10 Premier League meetings, Newcastle have won two. Newcastle have not scored at Anfield since 19 December 2004. Liverpool. Liverpool have drawn six of their nine Premier League matches at Anfield this season - five of which have ended 1-1. They have failed to score more than once in their last six matches at home. Maxi Rodriguez has scored 11 goals in his last 12 starts in all competitions for Liverpool and nine in his last nine Premier League matches. Newcastle United. Newcastle ended a run of six Premier League matches without a victory by beating Bolton. The Magpies have lost four of their last seven league games. In the 11 matches previous to that, they were unbeaten. Hatem Ben Arfa scored only his second ever Premier League goal against Bolton.
Well, it's after 12, it's officially match day, so the good banter goes out the window. Hope we stuff you, ya scouse ****s!! Nerh, I'm kidding This has gotta be the biggest pre match thread we've had going, surely? I'm off, see all you ladies tomorrow night Don't be too harsh on us, please?
It's 9 pages short of being my longest ever match thread... I'm sure if we get some 'interesting' referee decisions and an Andy Carroll goal, it will fly past the 20 page mark!
Normally our match day threads end up 25-40 pages, and that's just on the actual match day. Never had one get this big the day before a match! We have our own now too, as we always do. I imagine a lot of us will switch between the two though! I said I was off, I clearly lied. I'm off in a minute, honest!
That's quite a lot of posts! I expect when you beat Sunderland, your match thread had quite a few more posts than normal... Yeah, I expect we will all switch between both threads and have a bit of in-game chat!
http://www.not606.com/search.php?searchid=861289 Searched for a few there, GRB's matchday threads are the newest ones. 49 was the biggest We also chat a lot of **** though! Not found a Sunderland one yet! Yeah I imagine it'll be good banter (hopefully anyway ha), lets hope the profanities stay on the down low No controversy either, otherwise neither of us will hear the end of it
Well I will be there Geordies or Mackems or whatever your called, right ABOVE you, in the Anny Rd upper, if I accidentally drop some ketchup off my hot dog onto you, I apologise in advance It would be nice to here some away fans cheering there own side on this season , rather than just abusing our players, I suspect that wont happen 2moro though I suspect it may be Kuyt n Bellamy up top with Carroll off the bench, suspect Stevie may start on the bench too,and come on after 60 mins.Perhaps another goal against Newcastle, hes scored 1 or 2 against you over the years I going 2-1 Liverpool, Bellamy n Dirk for us , n Ba for you's
