The Official Not606 Match Thread: Liverpool Vs Everton. (Barclays Premier League)

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Chris., Mar 12, 2012.

  1. Things don't always work out as you planned. Do you think we wanted to play poorly against Sunderland and lose 1-0...? Obviously we didn't but it happened despite Kenny's plans. It happens.

It's not the point, This was our best chance to beat you under his tenure and he went for a draw.

Moyes is a good manager. I agree with him. A team you haven't beaten at their gaff in the longest time and a team playing some superb football and pushing the two manc teams at the pinnacle of the premiership? 3 points is a decent outcome.

I know that you're upset with the result (I would be too if it was vice versa), but perhaps he's just looking at the positives. Any Evertonian suggesting Moyes should be sacked (and I'm sure you're not saying that) needs their head examining.

If Moyes was to be sacked (which would be crazy, IMO) ... well, I'm thinking the MON and Aston Villa situation would be a fair comparison from the past.

Good win for us. Hope it bodes well for the weekend.

  6. You missed my point, maybe e didn't go for the draw but the way the match panned out Liverpool didn't give Everton any other option? not saying this was the case, just that I very much Doubt Moyes wasn't wanting to win the game.

Putting out that team and losing comfortably could do more harm to Everton's chances at the weekend than putting out a full-strength team and giving it a go. Their morale couldn't be too high after that despite their good recent form. Some of those players Everton brought in tonight got played off the park by our young reserves last week. That was Moyes' choice though and hopefully it pays off for him as if we get through I wouldn't mind playing them at some stage.

We were very solid tonight. Didn't do anything special but just happened to take some of our chances for once. Charlie Adam was great tonight too, held his position well and didn't give the ball away once.

Still annoyed that we didn't put that sort of effort in at Sunderland. You can't make the top 4 just by beating the top teams and your rivals. The win tonight was great but it's still just 3 points, just like the 3 points we handed to Sunderland on Saturday.

Your comments really are invalid. You go on about beating a weakened team like it's no achievement. Against a weakened team you expect to win comfortably...which was done. Something we haven't often acheived this season. Did you win the league after the Newcastle game Monday night? Seemed like it the way your players/fans celebrated, must just be a feel good factor almost becoming as good as your north London rivals.

So Moysies 10 years anniversary was upstaged with the first hattrick in a Merseyside derby at Anfield since Fred Howe in 1935 by Stevie G

    It was meant to be.

Think last nights game and performance highlighted the previous weak link in the team. How much better did we look without Adam playing.

Without Adam, we didnt lose the ball in good attack positions, play too many hollywood passes, slow the game down to a stand still and we actually saw our midfield (mainly Stevie G) making runs into the box

As a lifelong Red, I don't like doing this, but I can't see a future here for Adam.

Adam has become progressively worse over the season, this isn't helped by the fact that he hogs an essential position (if he were a winger he could get away with his **** ups) and so the fact he is useless is noted more. He can't tackle for ****,his passing is eratic at best, his set-pieces have been so-so and his long range efforts have been dire.
