Agreed, we look pretty solid at the back at the moment. Have been a few occasions where someone has got in between the midfield and back 4 which has been worrying and I think that is where we miss Lucas but overall very happy. Carragher looks like he is going to s truggle to get back in to the team at this rate.

 

Maybe Carragher should fill in for Lucas.

 

We REALLY need to stop playing like we did under Benitez, backpass to Reina, then boot it up the pitch. Pass and move works, why did we change that in the second half? We could have dominated this, it could easily have been 4 or 5 today. Still, happy with the 3 points, hopefully Spurs drop some today.

 

I think Carra might be starting to realise this season should be his last. We have a very solid back-line and tbh for the futures sake, Coates has to be above him in the pecking order for Centre-Back positions. Very happy with the performance, would have love Andy Carroll to have got a goal but not to be. I'm now 100% backing Andy Carroll to become good soon.

 

I think for that position you need speed, Carra would get run past every single time. He can't catch up in the box, let alone from the centre.

 

No point in overexerting ourselves when the game was already won. Needless injuries isn't what we need in the Xmas period.

 

Full time 2-0 3 points for us and that is a good result 1st of 6 fixtures in 19 days Wigan next

Just seen Arsenal's defence. Think Wenger has been looking at Stoke's manual on how to defend by playing 4 centre backs. Man City playing 3 attacking midfielders and 2 forwards. Could be a high scoring game I think.

 

If city can do a job today and we can pick up 3 points on wednesday we could really have gained well on everyone beneath the top 2.....Really hope we can put in a cracking performance wednesday..
