Thanks guys Does anyone share my sentiment that Pirelli should have stuck with a double gap between dry tyre choices? Seemed to make a good mix of strategies in the first race. I can't help but think that Medium and Hard tyres mean uniform strategies across the grid. Surely soft and hard would have made a better mix.
They did this in 2011 and it was a 3/4 stop race. I think the softs held up pretty well too (I'm sure the strategy of choice was soft-soft-soft-hard). Yeah I think they should've done that. I'd like to see a mix throughout the season, a few one-stoppers, a few four or five stoppers with the majority two or three. They've gone too consertative in my opinion.
You'd think given all the money in F1 that they'd have a better tactic to stop people seeing what they're doing than just sending the mechanics in front of the car
Is it just me who found it surprising that this is how they put the logo on the tyres? please log in to view this image
7 minutes left. Surprisingly Van der Garde is the 'quickest' out of the bottom two. Seems like some cars are having trouble with tyre ware.
Np my friends - Max Whipash's earler poll question. Well after Fp1 it looks like Raikkonen can still put up the fight. Sutil is very quick. Mercedes and Mclaren need to sort their act out.
Looks like Ferrari are in for a great weekend - Brundle thinks Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus are the best through turns 5 and 6.
Interesting. Brundle says Red Bull have the most rear downforce and are the best through sector 2 but both Red Bull's lost time to Ferrari in the final sector.
