1481 posts on the BBC thread already. My only observation is that we all know that Vettel will do the same thing again if it suits him, and how many teams in F1 can afford to employ a driver with that attitude?
I'd say that when you've won as much as Vettel, teams really won't care if he's ruthless. He's wins and that's what they all want at the end of the day.
Vettel I think tries hard to come over as a likeable sort of lad, and he's certainly gained a good following especially after achieving so much. I think it means a lot to him to be worshipped by his fans. But, he does have his detractors, some who just don't like his stupid finger waving and those who believe most of his success is down to his car. Now he's lost a lot of respect because of a petulant action which comes down to a belief that he is the number 1 driver at Red Bull, deserves to win more than anyone else and that driver in front is only there to help me win championships. Stupid Boy. I think part of the problem is in the sport itself. It's become too much about management of one sort or another and that brings in the need for team orders, even at the beginning of the season to ensure teams gain maximum points. What we all want is for everyone to race, team mate or not. However, rules is rules and Vettel is not a team player. How different was the reaction of Rosberg in the same situation, and even though he deserved to have that podium place, at least when it happens again there's not so likely to be any defiance, unlike at Red Bull where surely it can only be a case of every man for himself from here on.
For everyone mentioning Silverstone, Webber did not break team orders, he simply made his point that he could have done then backed off when the team told him too. Vettel DID break team orders, defiantly.
no, he tried and failed to get past, he didn't back off when told to at all, he went for it, but doesn't have the talent. Also no one has said anything about the swerve to the right Webber did when Vettel was alongside putting him inches from the wall, closer to it than MSC did to Rubens.
sorry BLS, for some reason hypocrites calling everyone else retards I find rather annoying, P.S. I notice I've been censured for calling a hypocrite a hypocrite, but the post calling people with an opposing view to RR retards is OK. please explain?
Can't we just agree to disagree on this? It's not as if there'll be any resolution. Is there even anything left unsaid at this point? Oh yeah, Vettel's a total narcissist; there, I've said it.
My view is that he could have had Vettel that day if he wanted. He was told to back off. Fair point about the pitwall squeeze, though. That does seem to have gone largely unnoticed. Dangerous both for that and forcing Vettel into the pitlane exit.
Theres a 3 week gap, we have to implode on ourselves, its tradition Being pleasant to each other is far to much to ask, opposing views mean mortal enemies!
If there is more to say than I think it can be done with a little more forum manners... There is no right and wrong in a subject like this so please dont stoop as low to insult people who have another opinion. Things can be argued more constructively
Its Autosport ratings time! Vettel: 4 Webber: 8 Alonso: 4 Massa: 8 Button: 9 Perez: 7 Kimi: 6 Grosjean: 7 Rosberg: 8 Hamilton: 8 Hulk: 9 Gutierrez: 6 di Resta: 6 Sutil: 7 Maldonado: 5 Bottas: 7 Vergne: 8 Ricciardo: 6 Pic: 8 Vab der Garde: 7 Bianchi: 9 Chilton: 5
lol, gets pole by nearly a second and wins the race and ends up with a 4, what a joke of a publication
I'm not defending the squeeze but there was a car width left and there is no rule that a car on track can not cross the pit line. Maybe the rule should be changed because it would have been an horiffic accident if a front runner was joing the track at the point!
Lol!! please log in to view this image We have gone back in time! back before Migs was so angry with Webber!!! Prepare for a re-run of the hate!!!!! <wink>
