He was 2 tenths up on 1st the last we saw of him (this was before Vettel improved though) Perhaps he made a mistake but you'd think it would atleast be mentioned.
I think Jenson made a mistake at the exit of the last chicane, he would not have aborted a lap that would put him into p2, he started p2 last year and jumped Alonso of the start. Its also very hard to overtake into turn 1 in p3 if the 2 cars ahead are side by side (as JB said in his interview). Also Lewis now has the advantage of strategy and all the other perks of out qualifying a team mate. But all in all a good day for McLaren.
He was up by nearly 2 tenths on Vettel's 22 6. Even with the 2 tenth loss in the last sector over RB he would have got 2nd.
i predicted lewis would qualify second and finish atleast second.i got the first part right, lets see if i get the second part right.
Same aero, but he has longer gearing. He's got an old engine in which I can't understand, but I think he has a better race setup. well last year button started in 2nd place and quickly got past alonso who started on pole. also button didnt know what lap times those behind him were going to do,so he didnt know 3rd was safe. also button aparently made a mistake in the 3rd sector.
Yes he was he was up by nearly 2 tenths which is what Lewis said that was all the car had in it, he either aborted because he wanted the clean side of the grid or he knew pole was out of reach, but he was definitely faster that lewis.
definitely or potentially? Unless you can actually do the lap it can only be potentially. The Mclaren boys seem to be set up to give Vettel a good chasing tomorrow.
last year jenson started in 2nd place right?did that stop him from getting past alonso? also like i said before, button didnt know 3rd was safe because other drivers still had to finish their laps. button simply made a mistake in the final sector.
thats what was said by the bbc team after quali.im sure im not the only one who heard it. also why would button back out of getting second place when he did so well from there last year? plus he didnt know 3rd was safe,so if you think he chose to abort as a tactical decision because he knew 3rd was safe you are deluded. http://www.formula1.com/results/season/201...ctor_times.html
alonso and webber still had to finish their laps so button wouldnt have purposely aborted thinking 3rd was safe. so the only reason he did that, that makes sense,is he made a mistake in sector 3.
it doesnt really matter anyway.he should have been asked in the press conference,i dont know why he wasnt. maybe in his next interview he'll be asked.
Hey guys I see Vettel has taken yet another Pole position so just wondering how he does it. I enjoy watching formula 1 but not too much in to the technical side of it. Is it that his car is much better than the rest or is it that he is too good.
A combination of the two. The car is very quick and he's consistently able to deliver over one lap. If it was just the car Webber, who's no slouch, would be consistently up there, but no driver could've stuck a Ferrari on pole today.
probably a bit of both. He's definitely got a top car, but he's also a very fast driver. its a dangerous combination at the moment.
