no doubt in my mind vettel is the greatest driver of this generation, he has overcome the odds once again to stick that car on pole despite this track being suited more to other cars. greatest qualifier ever youngest ever world champion youngest ever double world champion youngest ever to defend a title 10+ poles in a season for 2 seasons running couple years we will be regarding him as one of the best ever (well apart from hammy fanboys)
Why did Button abort? He was about to qualify 2nd. Fantastic job by Alonso to out qualify Webber and nearly beat the McLaren's. And he was unhappy with the balance.
He's had Kers issue 3 or 4 times. That is not an excuse for failing to win in the most dominant car since the 2004 ferrari.
So with Monza it is confirmed that Red Bull will be on Pole for every race this season. Is it bad that i hate them?
Good session, Lewis silenced his critics by out qualifying in form Jenson, all he needs to do now is not crash. Vettel looks set for another victory but as usual anything can happen into turn one and during the race.
I guess if Sky have to dip their toe into F1, it might as well be as we're going into potentially the most boring period since 2001-2004. Don't get me wrong, this season has been pretty good, but with Vettel winning 80% of the time and anyone who does anything exciting getting punished, the key ingredients for a dire year or two are there.
Good session, Lewis silenced his critics by out qualifying in form Jenson,. it was obvious button backed out of that last lap despite being faster than hamilton in order to start on the clean side of the grid my prediction 1 vettel 2 button 3 alonso 4 webber 5 hamilton 6 rosberg 7 msc 8 massa
Not really he made a mistake. Again. He was lucky to pip Jenson who was going faster at the end (i still cant fathom why he pitted, we didnt see or hear of an error)
One thing that annoyed me was the BBC talking about Schumacher today. Saying stuff about how he has improved and what an achievement it was to outqualify Rosberg today. Wasn't Rosberg on prime Tyres?
Yes I know that annoyed me as well, they are meant to presenting F1 but they can't even spot simple things like that.
Yes. Any of the top five can win it tomorrow I think. Alonso's so much quicker than the top three in the straights that I think he'll be a real threat. Vettel slowest in the speed trap again, McLarens are down there as well, I think they'll really have the plates full trying to hang onto their positions at the start.
Another thing that annoyed me (FOM not the BBC) was at the end of qualifying when they were showing Rosberg's time instead of Hamilton, Vettel etc. Why?
That's very good point. They're taking a risk in the race and I wouldn't be surprised to see Alonso fighting for 2nd, and theres a small chance he could challenge for the victory depending on Ferrari's medium tyre performance. I cant check sector times or speed trap data (on my phone) but presumably the top 3 were all strong in S2. I'm wondering, was Webber also slow in the speed traps or does he have a different set-up to Vettel?
