Beautiful by Ibe, he made that goal all by himself. Ran half the pitch and slid a pin perfect ball to Assaidi, who knocks it wide to Sterling to put in to the empty net. 2-0.

Full time, 2-0. Decent enough run out, Sterling probably the stand-out player. Another clean sheet and another win, can't complain with that.

Still don't understand the point of Allen. Could have just played Hendo alone in the midfield and would have had the same result.

Ibe and Sterling looked good again in the second half.
Alberto looked ok in the first half and Coutinho had some good moments.

Rest of the players were so-so.

Ibe and Sterling both showing again why we have absolutely no need for Downing. Especially considering we have Aspas, Coutinho and Alberto who can also occupy wide spaces.

Sterling, Ibe and Assaidi were impressive. Downing definitely has to behind them in the pecking order.

I would have liked more goals, but the pitch was pretty awful, so can't complain.

    And the crowd was outstanding.

Not a bad result, (secretly I was hoping for a similar result to the Arsenal game last week.)

    Wabnt a first class performance.

Was very happy with Sterling and Ibe when they came on. They really made a difference.

    Looking forward to wednesday now

Allen was fine. Passed well, joined the defence to the midfield.

s'all ok... can't see where bernard would fit in besides displacing the wonderful downing or even more displace sterling and be off the bench while he watches downing.

think we are not looking at him somehow.... will be interesting to see if those who played 60mins start again or will we play the second string for 60mins next.

I would keep Reina and play him in Downings position.

Decent enough performance, but think trip was more useful from a commercial point of view than working on tactics etc. Nice to get a win and clean sheet, good for fitness in the tough conditions and nice for the new players to get some experience playing with the 1st teamers.

We need to play a team that is going to offer a good challenge though so Mignolet can get some decent practice, so far he's had 2 shots to save in his 2 games and neither were too difficult (or on target). Will also see if Toure still has the pace and fitness to play at the top level.

What I've learnt so far though is Luis Alberto is more of a CM than a CF which makes his 14 or so goals last year even better. If he can get even half of that this year then that's going some way to getting those extra 20 goals BR has been talking about.

I learned two things from that game.
Firstly, the fanbase for the club out there is quite astonishing.
And secondly, that kit is dire.

(I'd have used bullet points but mito might shout)

  15. I've not seen the game, nor do I know the score, but judging by those pictures there was a cracking atmosphere

Incredible pictures, absolutely amazing support. Put's some British supporters to shame...

My only concern is - How many of those shirts do you think are replicas? I'm guessing not many!!!! When I was in Asia a couple of years back the streets were full of fake shirts!

IT is amazing. and the shirts... probably right on shirts but you know go to anfield and the mix of "classic" v "tshirt" v official replica is there..... I would hazard a guess that the more affluent Indonesian would want the authentic tag just to show he can afford it... we just opened 60 outlets or something so i presume we are trying to flood the place with some real stuff at tier price levels.

I also would ask how much the understand the 96 and are not just doing it cos they see it at anifield and want to copy. I hope they understand.... in any event that is just a minor curiosity on my part.

Amazing showing so i just guess this region will see another tour in the not so distant future.... we've not hit china, and the like yet. thailand and indonesia yes not china and india and a few other really big markets yet to be ploughed. it'll be a facotr in preseason from now on.... but a week is reasonable time i think.
