i think they both should get penalties for being near each other. there should be a rule saying Felipe's and Lewis's arent allowed to be within a mile of each other.

I just can't see it being Massa's fault at all. It was Marginal at best if it was anyone fault, but if anyone whould of got a drive though, it should of been Lewis. SOrrybut this one just doesn't sit right with me, I think that Lewis's press has got to the FIA this weekend, and they've let him off one.

I thought the Massa-Hamilton collision was similar to the Webber-Hamilton incident last year in Singapore. It was a racing incident there and it looked the same today. Both drivers could have taken avoiding action but neither can be solely blamed for the incident.

Massa could have given him more space but why should he move out of the way?
Hamilton could have backed out when he saw Massa wasn't going to give him space, but again, why should he?

    Racing incident imo.

I think Massa's a bit' flustered'. Lewis told him Good luck for the race and Massa says ' this is not real talking or chat' I'm not surprised though as he is a bit messed up and he too as Hamilton has been shocking this year. Probably in Abu Dhabi he'll set up a meeting about Hamilton's Relationship with stewards and no one turns up apart from him.

I would like to hear what the British steward has to say about the penalty.

What does the fact the steward was british have anything to do with it. Most of the driver steward have been british and its not like their adverse to giving lewis penalties. For me Massa should have left more room.

Stewards are severally and equally responsible for their decisions.

I hope this crazy decision doesn't set up a precedent. Hamilton already believes that all he has to do is waft his nose up the inside of some lesser driver and that will be an overtake, obliging the driver in front to immediately get out of the way. After all he is Lewis Hamilton: The Most Exciting Driver And Best Overtaker In Formula One.

I love these kind of feuds, makes the season more interesting and intense.

Roll on 2012, hopefully Ferrari having an equal car to McLaren to get more of this ****storm. All we need now is a Alonso vs Webber with Flavio in the middle and F1 will become a war again.

    Q. What is your view of the Lewis incident?

Felipe Massa: My view is that I was in front, I braked later than him and I was in front, I was on the grippy area as well and then I started to turn and I didn't see him on the left as he was behind. He touched my rear wheel. So, to be honest I don't understand why I have the penalty. It is not really understandable.

    Q. This is six incidents between you two now. Is it now a feud?

FM: Maybe for him. Because all the incidents are that he touched my car. So, I didn't do anything wrong. When I saw that he put the car on my side, what am I doing? It was very dirty in his place, so I braked on the clean side, the grippy side, I brake later than him and I start to turn and he is behind me.

If it is Lewis or not Lewis, whatever the driver is there, I would do the same. I am on the good grip. Whoever is trying to overtake in that place he will brake later than me and I cannot do anything, but in this case I braked, I was in front of him and he touched me behind, so it is nothing to do with [it being] him, it is something... he touched me.

    Q. He said he tried to bring an end to hostilities after the minute's silence?

FM: No, he didn't try. He didn't try to do anything. When I tried to speak to him he passed through. He did not look to my face, so no. Not here. Here after the one minute silence he was at my side and then he just said, 'have a good race'. So this is trying to what? Have a good race? Is that not part of talking, or whatever?

    Q. You say you didn't see Lewis, but watching the replay since it seems to indicate you looked three times in mirrors?

FM: I know he was on my side. But when I braked, this is the important place, not when you are on the straight. When I braked, he was not on my side. So, I turned because I braked later than him. I cannot understand why I am supposed to back off and let him by, no? I braked later. He was on the dirty side. And then I turned and he touched me from behind. He did not touch on my side, or wheel-to-wheel. If it was wheel-to-wheel I would not try to close the door.

    Q. Why did you see the stewards?

FM: The explanation is that they say when Lewis went on your side, you went to the right, and I said yes because I went to the grippy place. This is the only explanation they gave me because they were not so sure as well.

    Q. Every time there are incidents with Lewis, there will obviously be questions. What can be done to sort this out?

FM: To be honest, it is nothing from me and myself. When I felt it was already too much, what he was doing, he didn't want to speak. So for me, nothing.

    Q. Why so much bad blood between you and Lewis?

FM: I don't have anything against him.

    Q. So what will you say if you meet him?

FM: If I saw him I would tell you what I am telling you now... I don't have anything. I have nothing against him. Zero. Zero.

To me it was just a racing incident, but with Massa to blame more than Lewis, he turned into Lewis, not the other way around. Lewis has been harshly penalised a few times and those pathetic penalties for similar racing incidents have set a precedent where they nearly always result in a drive-through.

That said, Massa is a dirty driver who's tried to drive more than one person off the track this season.

Both drivers have been under massive pressure. Hamilton is making mistakes, Massa just did it on purpose.

i don't see why the stewards can't just declare things racing incidents any more... and most of their decisions seem to be based on whose car is more damaged by the accident.

He was definitely cruising - the FL's and speed in the opening laps proved that. Sometimes I wonder why he isn't 0.5-1 second ahead in qualifying.

vettel is just crazy in the race. once at the front, he knows how to control his pace to stay a decent gap in front (10 sec or more) while not killing his tires. he is a fantastic driver. of course having the best car helps, so maybe we'll have a better fight if the other teams pull their fingers out...

That is true Bergy, Massa was always looking. He had nothing to lose as he is struggling in F1 anyway.
He was told in an earlier race to "destroy" Hamiltons race, so why would he not turn in on Lewis in India..... sad and stupid decision.

So a Schumacher fan says that Massa did it on purpose. That is what major irony is.

Hey, I only made my point- I can see you are getting rattled. Well done on trying to start an argument, it's a shame I cannot be bothered carrying it on.
I am happy with today's race... grow up.
