Red Bull are coming back towards the pace of Ferrari and McLaren, But even still it's gonna be very exciting on Sunday.
please log in to view this image Ferrari strong in Sector 2, McLaren strong in Sector 3, Red Bull heavy or in trouble? I think Red Bull have more to show.
I still feel come quali that Vettel and Webber will show more pace but I hope I am wrong. I would love for Hamilton to win again and I think he could.
Well what a session . All three teams are in it , Lewis, alonso and button are looking on top form atm there putting pressure on redbull . Qualifying and the race will be viewing pleasure this weekend oh and a shout out to crofty, chandok and anthony great commentary throughout practice 2 guys .
Thanks Forza for the times. Looks like the ferrari's are slower in the last part of the track.... or are they easing?
I think I remember Alonso being held up in his fast lap? I dont really know as I was screaming from nearly getting killed in Dead Nation But I do think Red Bull WONT get pole. It will be either Alonso or Hamilton. If they dont, they should be scared esepecially in the next few races.
It all looks very promising but I too think Red Bull may be sandbagging. We need both Ferraris, both McLarens and Webber too to revive the championship by cutting that lead back. Alonso, Hamilton, Whitmarsh and Domenicali all seem to agree that they need to help each other a bit now. If Mercedes can step up a gear, that would help too.
As a big hamilton fan I would love to see him win. Anybody besides wunderkind would be a bonus. Even Fonso. As much as I don't like him. Someone needs to get on a run of consistency to keep this championship alive. By the times in practice looks like we gonna have a good race on Sunday
Redbull's are falling hard and fast it seems. Button and Alonso and Hamilton there ready with their jaws open like crocodiles. hahahahaha
Well after the gut wrenching news of today they may pull F1 away from my tv screen but they'll never take F1 out of me! So let's not be too down and keep our enthusiasm! Looking forward to this weekend massively. Think the Red Bull's have a few tenths in hand but it seems McLaren and Ferrari are hitting the sweetspots if today's sessions are anything to go by. Lewis looks on tip top form and I would make him a slight favourite for this weekend. 200th Grand Prix for Jenson - it would be a fairy tale if he could win this weekend and I wouldn't put it past him. Alonso will be in there as ever for sure so it will be a close close weekend I think. If someone other than a Red Bull can take pole tomorrow then the form book of this season will be looked at even closer.
If Red Bull do have an advantage, it isn't a big one. It's only been one week since Germany and none of the top teams have brought significant updates, which means the pecking order should be similar to that of Germany (McLaren strongest where mechanical grip is needed (S3), Red Bull strongest in the downforce sector (S2)). On a track like Hungary, regardless of Practice times I predict Red Bull will outqualify McLaren. I say this without bias: Ferrari are the biggest threats to Red Bull and McLaren. In FP2 Hamilton, Button and Webber did their fastest laps 10 minutes after Alonso so they had much better track conditions. Also, the F150 could have gone quicker. Ferrari were handicapped in Germany by the cold temperatures. They shouldn't have the same problem in Hungary.
A possible interesting development in the race will be McLarens pace. They are quick in sector 3, meaning they'll be up close in the DRS zone ready for over takes. With the shoe on the other foot they'll be able to pull away in S3 meaning cars behind will have more to make up in the DRS zone. Don't think they'll have pole or the fastest car, but I do think Hamilton and Button have a very real chance of both being on the podium Looking like a 3 way fight (fingers crossed)
FP3 on Red Button underway. Hamilton for a hat trick? EDIT : Vettel says "It will be much better today" My arse.
