Ive notised that the last time a red bull crashed... What are they for? you dont see them on other cars
Bruno Senna finished within 8 tenths of Petrov and I did not see him spin or lock up so I would say quite a good session for him.
I agree, a good day out for Bruno and Im sure the team has got a lot of useful feedback from all those clean runs
For Comparison Hungary Practice Petrov + 0.8 Senna Britain Practice (chandhok had driven the car before, first full session/ one where he didn't crash Trulli + 0.9 Chandhok Australia Practice Kovalainen Chandhok (crashed out) Buemi + 0.1 Ricciardo Sutil + 1.7 Hulkenberg No dramas like the others and decent times. Obviously what i posted above is all affected by fuel and it is only practice so is perhaps meaningless, but i think it shows Bruno is far from the hopeless one he has been portrayed as and certainly not a crasher.
please log in to view this image Hamilton's time looks like it was set with less fuel than Vettel and Alonso. I can't imagine McLaren being faster than Red Bull and Ferrari in all three sectors at a track like Hungary. Interesting how the Ferrari's were quicker than Red Bull in Sector 2. BBC F1 pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz: "As usual, the sector times reveal where each car is strong. Sector One in Hungary is mostly about gaining time on braking and traction, and Sebastian Vettel is quickest there. Sector Two is all about downforce, as the cars turn through the medium- and slow-speed section which flows through a series of corners - and intriguingly, Felipe Massa's Ferrari is currently quickest there, followed closely by Fernando Alonso in the sister Ferrari. The third sector is more like the first, but rewards mechanical grip through the slow last two hairpin corners and that's where Lewis Hamilton is strong, alongside Mark Webber, who aced it before his crash. Early indications, then, point to another three way fight between Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren this weekend. If that turns out to be the case, that would be very different from last year, when Red Bull were untouchable in Hungary."
I still think Lewis was carrying maybe 1 or 2 laps less than Vettel or Alonso. Not that much IMO, but McLaren will be up there. Also they had some new parts, the continued testing of the new Rear Wing and a new exhaust.
lewis was doing purples in sectors 1 and 2 before he was held up by alguersuari who was also doing a fast lap.mclaren dont usually show their true pace this early on.
So have Red Bull lost performance or have Ferrari and to an extent Mclaren caught up? I think a bit of both.
Good lap from Lewis. 2 tenths faster than Alonso's time on his first real lap on the super softs. And Jenson only a fraction off Alonso too. McLaren are in it...
Ferrari are sitting comfortably and running high fuel long stints. I think they have something up thier sleves. Either way both them and Mclaren look better than the red Bulls
