Half the season down and I'm still to predict the winner correctly, am I the only one? I'lll go for Alonso.
I think in Germany Q3, If both McLarens had fresh sets of tyres for their final runs one of them would have taken pole. And it looked like Button had the best race pace and had he not had cars to fight past at the start he may well have won. And they have more upgrades for Hungary so it will be interesting but I think the McLarens should have a good shot at pole and win.
I think this race is Hamiltons. Mclaren have lost this race twice since 2005 so they're obviously good around here. And they were fastest in Germany imo, so it's Hamiltons turn.
I was thinking Hamilton and actually pressed the vote button without thinking on his name! But I went for Alonso in the end, as there are Showers expected and Mclaren, even with upgrades, surely won't have sorted out their dreadful wet pace by now? It's Alonso's title, I think. Fully deserves one IMO.
Even with the new restrictions I think Red Bull will be the car to beat. Forecasted rain on Sunday afternoon could make things interesting though.
I think this is my first contribution to the predictive threads. Certainly it is my first vote for its poll, so I'm sorry I didn't join in earlier. After the Germany upgrades, I'm expecting the McLaren to be on the pace in the hands of both of their drivers. With two wins apiece, they are both fair bets for the gambling game (I hope!); but like Damon Hill, Jenson Button is particularly good at the technical circuits, so he gets my vote over Hamilton this time.
I usually forget to vote until it's too late but I'm thinking (or is it hoping?) the same as you. However, I'm going for Hamilton because I Lewis.
There are some rumours going about that Ferrari have done the same trick RBR did at Hockenheim with all their previous starts, as we know you are always very good off the line. People report that Massa was told in the past to "apply more throttle" eventhough he was getting wheelspin already? Any thoughts on that Forza? Be good to here from the other side!
Looking at the practice,Mclaren are a lot quicker and redbull are awfully slow. If Mclaren had brought this updates in the earlier part of the season lewis would have been up there at the top.
Gary Anderson saying Red Bull should be concerned about their lack of pace in FP1. They know what they're doing with fuel loads etc. Anderson doesn't. McLaren are always doing glory runs in FP1, Mercedes usually play it cool in practice sessions and I didn't see them use DRS once so their pace is pretty impressive. I thought Pirelli would bring their two softest compounds, they did last year. I miss the Super Softs.
F1 fans saying Seb was doing his personal best and then he went into the pits, was on target to 4th-5th.
