    Indeed. At this rate, Chandhok might be in trouble too if he can't hook up a lap where he doesn't lock up and slide off the track. Bit of a poisoned chalice for him having only a dozen laps of practice under his belt before this weekend.

    So Red Bull, Mclaren and Alonso all get through Q1 without using a set of option tyres.

    Yeah i read somewhere that they dont want the races to be as gimmicky and have races being won by tyres.

    This may be cynical but I am starting to think that Pirelli promised exciting high degradation tyres just to get the tyre contract in F1 and then always intended to develop them to be more durable tyres afterwards.
