Suarez completely missing and Coutinho looks so weak. Our two best players not performing and we are struggling. 1st to 5th and 2 points off utd in less than a week.
Eto'o would have been lucky to escape a red for that challenge let alone a yellow! How he didn't get either is beyond me. A studs up tackle on his knee... oh it's ok because he's a forward and only 1 minute of the game gone Yet again Skrtel more concerned about holding onto Eto'o rather than getting into a decent position to clear the 2nd goal. Why was he standing so deep, Oscar was only ever going to be able to roll that across the middle so take a position just behind the front post so you can clear anything that comes across, not stand in the middle allowing the chance for someone to come across in front of you.
Sktrel was at fault as much as Mignolet for their 2nd. Chelsea have so much physicality compared to us.
The change in position dosent really bother me as on paper it was always a likelihood/possibility. But I'd stomach it better with performances like against city than this ****e.
And then Johnson is booked for absolutely nothing tackle, and I'm not even sure it was a tackle. Ref sees that as a worse tackle than Eto'o? And he's our best ref and going to the WC
This is why most of us said we needed another attacking player in the summer. To give us those extra 5-10 points in games like Hull/Newcastle where Suarez/Sturridge/Coutinho are injured or not playing well.
After all of Chelsea's fouling the first booking is on Johnson for nothing Webb proving to be a pathetically weak homer for the 1000th time
Rossiter is a quality yopung scouser. He is 16 i think byut with brilliant passing and vision. Still just a lad though and could suffer with the physical side of the game. Lots of energy though. Real prospect.) Smith is quality natural LB, can also switch and play from the right. Stars often for the U21s after having a bad injury last season. Good young player
We don't have the option to rotate a different starting 11 like City and Chelsea. And even if we did, we didn't have an easy fixture to do it for anyway Let's hope this performance is just tiredness and we bounce back
Well after going 2-1 down it looked like it was going to be 3 or 4 before half time so decent enough to get some control back and only go in 1 down. Some very poor refereeing decisions when you look at some tackles that have gone on and which ones have been and haven't been booked. We probably deserve to be 1-0 down as Chelsea dominated the first 30 minutes. Skrtel showing again why he's such a poor CB when it comes to anything other than heading away a cross when he isn't marking (which is why he played well with 5 at the back) and again showing why he's so poor on the ball (let's players close him down so they can block then just kicks it out of play). Suarez has hardly touched the ball and when he has it just isn't sticking. Allen has looked decent in making forward runs, if that one had sat down a bit quicker could have got a shot away before Cahill made the tackle.
The difference between the 2 teams so far is strength. We haven't battled and they have. Match them and we'll win this. They will run out of ideas and strength.
Another Mignolet ****up and we may come away with nothing. What the **** is with him, brilliant one time and ****ing hopeless another.
