Disagree. We ALL have enough to be pissed off about with what often happens on the pitch - if this sort of technology was introduced at least we'd all go home knowing we weren't either robbed of a perfectly good goal, but also that we didn't benefit from a linesman's blunder
Suarez biting folk. Who and how teams are doing in the league? The degree of shocking tackles? etc, etc, etc
I used to be dead set against technology but its starting to become a joke. Some of the decision we've experienced in the last couple of games have been astonishing, especially the Sterling offside.
Lol true KE. I think all professional refs should have to do their own press conference after the match at least. With a VT machine and big screen that they can talk us through their decision. If in that situation they can look at the screen and man up by saying "got that wrong" then I'll be slightly more mollified. Even better if they can point out something we missed as they're supposedly the experts then even better. At the moment, ****ers like Webb can just refuse to make ANY decision and slink off to leave managers and us wondering exactly what the rules are....
Can't argue with that but I do think they'd get lynched for some of their decisions Can you imagine a referee wrongly giving a penalty in injury time allowing the befitting team to win 1-0 and the losing manager was someone like Allardyce or Redknapp
True, As I understand it at the moment the managers can go into the refs dressing room and ask WTF? After the game. I honestly think managers like us would have some of their anger taken away if they know the ref has to face the same spotlight as they do. I think the only danger with it is that the press unlike managers aren't constrained by the FA rules. It might be awkward if for eg, James Pearce gets to say to Webb "this is the 6th time you've had to come out and explain why you didn't give a clear foul against Luis Suarez when the video shows it was a foul and you had a clear view, why else would you not give it Howard, surely not player reputation??" Lol.....silence.....cough.......silence....
Yeah, managers get to speak to the referee's privately which I would imagine enables them to get away with more than they would in front of a camera. What you are suggesting would put the referees under more pressure but and potentially restrict the managers reacts as it would be there for all to see. I do think they should have to face the consequences though
Yeah, like when's that ever going to happen? I'm with Gerrez on this, for years I was against the introduction of technology but the combination of useless officials and cheating bastard players is too much now and I think we may need to see more of it. I take your point about human error being part of the game, Eric, but somehow it all seems to be so much worse now. Ironically, it's probably the proliferation of technology which has made us more aware of the need for more technology. We'll probably end up doing away with real players and just playing virtual matches.
There will always be a element of human error no matter how much technology is introduced, it is impossible to do everything.
Matth got FM 2014 for Christmas so he qualifies as an expert, give him the job of getting the game in order. #votematth
Hover, drone like cameras, with in-built Hawkeye and all angle playback. replace refs. Mark my words it will happen!
