probably buoyed by not being down to 10 men in the first 2 mins tobes. i dont think it would have made much dif to the result, but we should have at least been given a fair chance to find out.
You shouldn't mate, if you want a pen for the off the ball clash with Suarez, then you'd have had to accept the Hazard / Lucas tangle as also being worth a spot kick. That was as poor as I've seen you in a while tbh.
I didn't see the Lucas challenge as a pen but yes to the Eto'o challenge so maybe it red tinted spectacles.
I didn't think the Hazard one was a pen either, as he played for it, but you see plenty of them given. I think if Suarez had the ball when Eto'o runs across him then Webb gives the pen, but he was chasing the fullback down & Webb probably saw it as nothing more than an off the ball collision. He never sticks his neck out & he wouldn't have given a spot kick for an incident like that in a month of Sundays imo.
Nailed on pen Eto'o puts the challenge in that was never just a collision. I have to accept that the other incident (Lucas) may have been a pen for Chelsea (depends who's looking at it) but Eto'o on Suarez is nailed on for me.
It was a foul ( a daft one at that) I'm not contesting it. All I'm saying is that you'll never see Webb give a pen for an off the ball incident like that. If Suarez has the ball & Eto'o makes that challenge he points to the spot - but he didn't have the ball.
The team just looked tired yesterday. Allen was playing with an injury prior to the game and Hendo was pretty much taken out by Eto'o. Lethargic performance and it didn't help that chelsea finally decided to turn up for the first time this season (from an attacking perspective). Not the end of the world - we lost to the two most expensive squads in England and away from home. No shame in that. But it also does highlight our poor defending - unable to hold leads against Everton, City and now Chelsea.
What a complete and utter load of tosh. Blatant that you have actually played very little football in your miserable existence if you believe that Hazard deserved a penalty when he engineered the coming together himself!.
Why don't you actually try reading the thread before you wade in with your aggressive, ill informed, inaccurate bullshit.
Both the Eto'o on Suarez and Lucas on Hazard challenges were penalties. However, the Eto'o challenge on Henderson in the first couple of minutes cones first and Samuel should have walked. The game runs a different course there on after.
Hazard threw his leg out to deliberately make contact, and he looked like he was already one the way down.
He did the Ashley Young dive i.e. as soon as he's made the decision to go down his legs suddenly become completely straight, sticking out about 30 degrees in an "inverted V" or "delta wing" configuration >-o

No, that was exactly my point You waded in swearing blind that it was a terrible decsion then weeks later when it's died down you quietly admit you were completely wrong #epicepicfailbytobes Let's just make the rule that any post you swear in is nonsense (the rule works for the one you just did too, see?)
Webb hasn't awarded any penalties this season, it's being suggested he's keeping away from contentious decisions to secure his WC place!
Graham Poll in the Mail says this: So, if Hazard engineers the contact himself, how can it be a penalty?
Webb's made a career out of dodging making contentious decisions JB. It's easier to give nothing than to make what could be retrospectively seen as a bad call.
