It must be because the red bulls and ferrari's can get the heat into the tyres better than the mclaren and Mercedes cars. At a track which I really though mclaren would be supreme at turned out to be wrong and they seemed to be struggling top 3 team wise.
Yeah - he wrote that before the Button interview. What's the betting he'll 'update' (i.e. correct his cock-ups) before tomorrow? EDIT: duly retconned so it looks like he knows what he's talking about:
The lap times Genji posted were incorrect for Q3, here are updated times: http://www.fia.com/en-GB/mediacentre/f1_media/Documents/can-qualifying-classification.pdf
lol. Cheers for that but it was FOM's live timing. It went really askew during Q3 and still shows the same. Updated.
For anyone interested, here's Vettel's pole lap in full: Now I'm not the best person to judge (perhaps cosicave is), but apart from the clear mistake at the hairpin, anyone spot any other major flaws?
Again Vettel dominates. If we cannot beat him on a track like this we should just give up. Great job from Massa, nearly out-qualified teammate Fernando. Webber a solid fourth and Lewis a disappointing 5th with apparently a "wet wing set up" for him and Jenson. Nico splits the 2 McLarens. Now it will interesting to see whether the rain comes.
Same old **** house Mercedes, lets see what Michael and Nico can do with a good start , hope of rain to mix things up.
I would wait until after the British Grand Prix before giving up hope of anyone beating Vettel. That's the track where we will find out where everyone is in relation to Red Bull. You said Vettel "dominates" - in a way, you are correct - but that pole advantage was small today, and we know that Ferrari's are very quick in the race. With overtaking very possible, I will be very surprised if Vettel dominates in the race.
I think the teams should move on to 2012 now. This year is over. McLaren at least. If Ferrari win tomorrow they could have a faint chance.
It really is, even though Ferrari have secured a 3/4, they have knocked Mclaren out of race win contention, and they are the highest in the championship in order to pull down Redbull. Redbull have already ran away with it, Hamilton knows it after his post-quali interview, everyone knows it.
Just wan't to add, it's raining now in Montreal. That will clean up the dirty side of the track. Fernando Alonso got a new clutch in Spain (I think) - since then, his starts have been very good, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Alonso take the lead into the first corner - unless we start under the safety car. Alonso sounds delighted in the press conference, and unlike all the other races where he said the podium was the target, now he genuinely believes he can win.
Spare chassis excuse is bullshit imo - D'Ambrosio hasn't been fast enough all weekend, and therefore I don't see why he should be given a chance to race due to exceptional circumstances.
Just to go off topic a bit... Tags canada, cashprizes, go alonso, homerisafatlobe, mclaren are ****e, predictions, vettel crashed. homerisafatlobe!!!??? go alonso is probably from Forza or Fred whoever it was it worked, P2 for him and I think he will be in the mix tomorrow.
