I agree. Fernando will be up there. As for VMM, they havent really shown some pace yet... maybe when they stick on the super softs they can be up there with the pace of Ferrari and Red Bull.

Interesting, the 107% time is a 1min19. Currently the HRT's and Virgins are both outside of it, and I think Q1 could see times as quick as these.

Alonso and Massa lapping consistently in the high 1:13s and the low 1:14s. And attacking the chicanes more than anyone else as Crofty says.

That's good traction - and confidence in the car.

Ferrari appear to the dark horses for the win, possibly pole.

Yeah. Especially at the hairpin and turn 2 is where you need very good traction.

They've blitzed our prediction times. At this rate they'll only be close to my time if it pisses it down with rain. :(

An Alonso pole (and, even better, an Alonso victory) would be phenomenal this weekend. If the championship's already lost to Vettel then a battle between Hamilton and Alonso for second could yet make this a classic season. If it isn't lost then I'd rather see Hamilton win and take the fight to Vettel. Sixteen points (Hamilton over Alonso) is not huge but with scraps from Red Bull's table being thin on the ground it's a lot to give up.

OK - chequered flag: what are your predictions for the top ten in qualifying?

(Oops de la Rosa... how many front wings have Sauber brought?)

I reckon we'll see: 2 Red Bulls, 2 Mclarens, 2 Ferrari's, 2 Renaults Rosberg, and maybe di Resta?
