Who's that man in the sunnys having a nose? A McLaren spy It should be a dry practice so all the teams will be able to properly evaluate their new parts.
Button's predictions, http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/09062011/66/button-tips-mercedes-surprise.html But it will probably be another let down on Michael Schumacher's side.
That's quite surprising, because while Mercedes could surprise everyone with a high qualifying position (which still remains unlikely considering the top 3 teams), they have problems with rear tyre wear, which will be a nightmare in the race.
Yes, I tend to agree that Mercedes have a good chance to put some noses out of joint this time. They have two important positives: 1, they tend to have the highest top speeds which is extremely useful here; 2, they have great traction out of slow corners. Then again, Ferrari have similar strengths with perhaps a slightly more compliant car. We could see a situation with the top four teams being very close. And who knows? - maybe even Lotus Renault can mix it too! If Red Bull out-perform everyone here, it really will be the finishing touch to the writing on the wall, but I've tipped a McLaren driver to take the laurels in the end. One thing is very likely: this one's really too close to call…
I think Jenson has it in him for the win. He's looked pretty feisty this last few races and I think it could be time for another victory. Having said that, if it rains it could literally be a bit of a lottery.
Would love to see Hamilton winning and Vettel in 3rd - 4th, and get the momentum back to Ferrari and Mclaren, Should be a good weekend, racing in the evening and all for a change
Good luck to him but this is a circuit I expect Hamilton to hold the better hand. Montréal is one of the least technical of all circuits which really plays to the strengths of a more matadorial style. Button's best card is his long-term thinking here but I do not think it will be enough compensation, leaving him too much to do.
Random comment but I just remembered Martin Brundle got in trouble for calling some people fixing the hairpin pikeys a few years ago. Just made me chuckle
I believe Red Bull were every bit as quick as McLaren last year, Lewis was three tenths faster than Webber, but once you factor in that his car was under-fuelled and the Red Bulls were on the prime compound I don't think there'd have been anything separating them. Also (I may be wrong on this), McLaren had the F-Duct whilst Red Bull didn't, whereas this year they both have DRS. I think Red Bull could easily be fastest again this weekend, which would be a real kick in the teeth for everybody else who have this down as RBR's second weakest track after Monza.

Aren't Sauber running a similar rear suspension system to Ferrari? They're also incredibly nimble on their tyres.
