Nope I don't see how a first win, pole combo is a sign of going backwards. Mercedes is just very inconsistent. And it's mostly because of their reliability, for a team that has loads of wonga. Leave it out Miggins it is getting boring now.
Although they've won a race. This is by far their worst season. They should get rid of anyone above 40 and bring in someone to be able to challenge Rosberg and push him even further.
Rosberg's hardly set the world alight either, China aside this season I have to say he's been average. The main problem that Mercedes have had and I don't know what the cause is but it's affected them since they were Brawn GP - they don't develop well enough because they put all their gimmicks on the initial car and have to work around them.
He has, look at quali and race results before mechanical issues influenced both cars. Wasn't Rosberg pushed when quali was wet? What about Monaco? How about the early stage of the season? Both drivers are on a par, age may have reduced Schumacher from his Ferrari form, but he is still fresh and racey as anybody else. Fred I have known you for two years now, and with the fullest respect, you need to take both areas of the argument into account. Unless Schumacher is dwindling in the last eight every race and quali, you have a point. But with a pole on a driver-influenced track, great start to the season, the well anticipated podium, and a great fight with his teammate, you should think again. Thanks.
I mentioned to Bando recently that Mercedes need to build an unsurprising car that is average on most tracks (Lotus), instead of building a ****box- one trick horse that has to be worked around as you mentioned mate. Won't be too surprised if Michael does retire, but with a career like his who cares. He took the fight to the young guns as much as the car allowed. Say what you want (indirect) he is Michael Schumacher.
Im with EMSC on this. I think the mercedes is poor though I also agree that the drivers have not been at a high standard this year. but that could be because they dont have the confidance from the car. But then again look what Alonso is doing.
I'm with Miggins on this. He's had half a career now to prove himself and he has proven to be mediocre.
Hey I know it's last-minute but would anyone mind setting up the thread for the Monza sweeps? I've had a few system errors in trying to get it set up over the last few days and I really thought this thing would have sorted itself out by now. I can't actually do it from any other computers, iphones, etc atm. If so it would be greatly appreciated
Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. Also, probably the only time you'll see Massa get 50 points for the race
