Absolutely. Pastor has had pole, been in the top 10 quite a few times, raced well, won a race, been in positions to get podiums, but then has screwed up a few times. Definitely makes him better than Massa, who has done none of the above, except screwing up a few times!

    Gotta love the local press!

He's the dark horse in my opinion. With the possible weather and including that McLaren and Lotus being weak in the wet, Seb could take it if he qualifies ahead of Alonso when it's dry.

With the weather allegedly set for at least some rain I thought I'd take a punt on Perez. Sauber usually go well here when Hamilton remembers not to crash into them.

If its a wet in the race its an easy Alonso win, Ferrari have made a beast in wet conditions. Mixed conditions im going to say JB, he always wins when you least expect it. If its a Dry race...yeah like thats going to happen :p

We havnt seen the Mclaren updates in the wet competitivly yet have we? I still think this will be a Lewis vs Kimi race rain or sun.

I cant see the Lotus performing well in mixed conditions and Mclaren seem to be very hit and miss. Safe money would be on Alonso and the Red Bulls with maybe a Sauber making a guest appearance on the podium.

David Croft made a good point on Sky during the hungarian grand prix and that was that if the air temperature is hot then maybe it will allow Mclaren to generate heat into the intermediate and wet tyres quicker as that has been their downfall in the wet this season.

Yeah, considering how little he understands motor racing, David Croft is a genius.

P.S. to all members who've recently mentioned Alonso: I cannot believe how I left him out of my 'top five' prediction, early in the thread!

This is the 1 race where it's wise to ignore weather reports.

In qualifying they might lockout the front row, but it's possible RBR, McLaren and maybe even Ferrari will have their versions come Friday.

lotus took a race to test it. I imagine the others will evaluate it in spa in an effort to use it in Monza

    – Whereas research has already demonstrated that it is exactly what keeps F1's large scale audience interested!

Obviously he would prefer to be back in the days where virtually everything was in his favour, thus making it predictable – and a complete turn-off for a huge part of F1's previously interested parties.
