Heartwarming to know Hamilton's main priority straight afterwards was Alonso. +1 rep Hammy. Don't think msc will get a penny, Vettel looked like he wanted the pits too.
Did DiResta just blame bad luck? Is he that ******ed? Just because you're slow doesnt mean you're unlucky..
Look at all the space Grosjean had: please log in to view this image There was no need to drive into Hamilton and if he had stayed in a straight line he would easily have passed Hamilton anyway.
Clears up any suggestion of a Force India being involved. Was just usual brainless driving from Gorsjean on the first lap.
Well it's Monza next so atleast it's a bad Red Bull track. After Valencia and Spa, Webber is due some bad luck. But if we're being realistic, it'll be a Mclaren 1-2.
How has Maldo not been given a ban yet? Doesn't he now hold the record for most penalties in a season?
Maldonado (predictably) gets a 10-place grid drop for Monza. I'm sure other people can say what there is to say better than I can.
If I was a cynical person, I would point out that Red Bull have a history of bringing their mechanics out to the pit lane to induce other teams to pit and thus give Vettel/Webber some clean air for a few laps before they actually pit and undercut the driver they were being held up by. Good job I'm not cynical... In other news, Grosjean was clearly at fault for the start. However, my initial reaction was that a one race ban is harsh. I suppose the ban has been given due to the serious nature of Alonso nearly receiving a clout in the face from the Lotus. I'm struggling to see the difference in intent between this and Monza 2011 though, when Liuzzi was pushed onto the grass and then smashed into everyone at the chicane. both were driver mistakes but no one got a race ban for that. Maybe I'm missing something that everyone else noticed? Please enlighten me.
Thanks for that link Forza, too hard to see from all the other views I saw on TV, not sure why they didn't show it from overhead, (unless I missed it) and I guess Grosjean simply wasn't thinking of anything other than getting up the inside of the Sauber ahead, very poor driving, he and Maldonado seem to have the driving talent but lack a brain
Fair bit of overtaking. Vettel rising through the field. Massive crash at the start and the pack split on whether to one or two stop. Buttons comeback. Pretty good race so long as you're not a Hamilton/Kobayashi/Alonso/Perez fan
