I think i understand it better now Actually, looking at everything, Kamui Kobayashi really could win tomorrow. Shame they'll fix the strategy in Perez's favour. My predictions: 1st: Jenson Button 2nd: Kimi Raikkonen 3rd: Sergio Perez
What I also dont understand is that Lewis and Jenson have the same middle sector times (only a tenth in it), given that Lewis is supposedly on a higher down force setup yet they also have exactly the same top speed, but Lewis has lost 4 tenths in both the first and last sector? The only conclusion I can come to is that Jenson is getting upto speed quicker than Lewis to make up the time which is more or less flat out sectors. Either that or Lewis has been affected by tyre warm up (like Jenson in previous races) due to the different spec set ups? Thougts?
Dont forget that with high fuel the cars wont be able to reach top speed as they did in quali. That is when shorter gears should help out the red bulls who looked terrible in the speed traps. The middle sector with low down force and high fuel could also be a handful. I have no idea what will happen tomorrow, but happy with my pre weekend prediction
The stewards report on Maldonado says: "The driver of Car 18 was told not to "hold up" Car 12 which was behind him, yet he clearly did impede Car 12. However as Car 12 continued into Q2 a more severe penalty was not considered appropriate." What a fool. Reminds me of the time he was told to "play it safe with Hamilton", and then crashed into him on the next lap
Does anyone have a video of him "holding him up"? Because I dont think it would even be that bad. We didnt even see a replay. The FIA are so Red Bull biased that they put him right behind Alonso
If anyone wants any pre-race giggles, look no further than the comments section of http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227/8042023/Maldonado-hit-with-penalty. Conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories everywhere.
So with Maldonado's penalty Saubers are now 2nd and 4th- absolutely incredible for a team that just under three years ago didn't even have a slot on the grid!
If my mouth wasnt a curse magnet, i'd say Perez will one stop and win. But that's just me being a Perez fanboy
Currently watching the GP2. Calado takes out his 2 main rivals in the championship and the commentator thinks it's fine. I dont get it. He's worse than Maldonado.
Time for my two favourite pre race games. A) how many places will Alonso make up at the start? B) who will pastor hit first? This week these two questions could be linked.
A part of me hopes you're right. A Button win will only increase Alonso's advantage unless Alonso DNFs and I want the title to stay wide open for a while yet. That said, Fernando fully deserves to be where he is.
