It's just a gut feeling I have about Vettel although, thinking about it, it probably comes from last year's race when he wasn't fancied beforehand because of the car but took pole and then the race anyway. Thinking about it further, there's a presumption that the Red Bull is only suited to cool conditions but we haven't had a race in dry heat so it's still an unknown quantity. According to Gary Anderson, the track will suit their exhaust better than Shanghai did, at least.
That caught me out as well, on Muzz we can watch all the practice sessions and have to put in out votes before qualli
This time last year he was seen to be struggling because of the car, IIRC. Many people, myself included, had been lulled into a sense of false security.
I was in "savour this while it lasts" mode. I didn;t for a second think Newey would fail to make a world beater out of that car.
Hot hot was China? Would be good if we could collect this kind of data for each session, I don't think it's available anywhere else but the FIA broadcast track and ambient temperatures at the start of each quali/race so it would just be a case of someone noting it down.
The whole thing about our predictions, especially early in the season, is that they're blind without even practice to go on. I'm just surprised that so few think Vettel may take the victory here. Maybe it's wishful thinking
I'm blindly following the general consensus in the Motorsport press that Ferrari and Lotus are the current teams to beat
That is certainly the only feasible reason I've gone for Hamilton. I'm putting it down to a gut feeling, but truth be told that gut feeling is called wishful thinking!
Does anyone know why the lead cars aren't using the red t-cameras this year? Makes it heaps harder to tell each car apart (especially Hamilton and Rosberg!)
Gotta be Caterham, they're the only team he has any affiliation with. Plus I doubt any more serious team would be starting talks this early.
