Welcome to the forum Now that it's nearly race time, there's a massive influx of new members; proves this is the place to be
All the big teams are trying to downplay expectations right now, presumably so that they can spring a surprise in Aus. Given that last year's Ferrari was famously 'off-the-pace', might Alonso's remarks just be part of a similar game of misinformation ahead of the season's opener, by continuing to claim that the Ferrari is slow? After last year's car, he's quite plausible in saying this but his remarks will be forgotten quickly if the car performs where it counts, in the races. And welcome to the forum, Joey Zyla.
Unless one of them happens to be PMC back from the depths of the internet. In which case, kindly exit the forum stage left. Lol, actually it wouldn't surprise me if he started an account years ago, and gets on here now and acts as if he's been a member for years
What he said Basically trolled the forum a few years ago and every time he got banned would pop back up with a new fake account.
The annual call for Melbourne to host a night race has come!! Its just like the Coka-cola Lorry adverts signifying Christmas! Formula 1 is coming! Formula 1 is coming! Formula 1 is coming!
Alternatively, they could do what NASCAR does with Daytona and have one daytime race and one nighttime race every season.
Last year there was a call for Adelaide to host a night race there. To be honest, I think Melbourne would looks just as cool, if not cooler than Singapore as a night race. But just no. We have to cater to European times nearly all year round, this ain't gonna happen. Plus if Bernie cares that much about making things better for Europe, why is he attempting to get rid of all their races and shoving them in Asia where they also don't have to cater European times? Anyway, it's not as if it's actually going to come to fruition.
This! ^ I really dont mind getting up early for eastern races. For me that is a part of F1. They re run the race at 1pm anyway
Bernie being an idiot as usual if he cares about how many Europeans watch the races then why is he constantly shifting races to dull and soulless tracks in places like Korea where nobody watches both at the track and in Europe because of the time? Australian fans get a tough enough time as it is during the European season with races on at unsociable hours, surely they can have a couple of races where they get to watch at a good time and European audiences have to get up early, as ElBando mentioned there's re runs anyway in the day that lots of people watch.
Perhaps if Bernie wants to cater to a primarily European audience one step would be having a few more races in Europe...
