I've gone for Russell Martin, as others have said, he's been fantastic this season, both going forwards and at the back. He's really stood out in what has been a pretty good defence this season. Also, his workrate is amazing, he ran 60-70 yards to hit his goal against Ipswich, with a decent finish too, and you could see from his celebration with Lambert he's really fired up and dedicated. Crofts is also an unsung hero.
As your a Gills man I've gone for 1.Cody McDonald 2.Tom Adeyemi 3.Steven Smith I'm sure most of the Norwich fans will disagree with me just because I'm QPR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No, Mandy. We disagree with you because you're an illiterate, brain-dead obsessed chav. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRRqXJIB-zSgclKotGb4EDccO-AouA1uhJR23XamDMqI9z6u7Bk
In my eyes he would win it just behind Adebayo Akinfenwa and Andy Barcham tied in second place, If I was buying him I would love him for around the 400k Mark as I think that is an ok price.
Defo Holt for me followed by Russ Martin, Had we had a few clean sheets he would have got it...Holt has got 22 goals and about 14 assists, that is awesome...
Yeah it is amazing That Homer Mark Stimson stripped Crofts of the captaincy and Released him on a free, What a joke.
Didn't know he had that many assists aswell, Knew he had set up a few, But that is a bit higher than I thought it would be, My god.
I tried to look it up but cant find it anywhere, i pulled the number from the top of my head but its around the 15 mark i think.....
Well for someone who scores that many, a lot of them don't give the other striker a chance so he is unselfish,
Its bugging me now, I think i heard it during the Ipswich game when Holt set up Jackson but can t find assists listed anywhere, if anyone can check i would be gratetful.
I'll actually conform that even I am surprised with how well Jacko is doing now, I thought he would pick up, But I didn't think he was the sort of player that would even get one hattrick this season so credit to the legend himself Paul Lambert for making this a reality. I am so happy for him and hope him the best and I hope he scores the goal that fires you into the Premiership.
Them two make such a good force now, I remember in the Play Off Final between Shrewsbury and Gillingham it was between them two and Holt said it was the battle of the two wits, He said he was going to prove he was better and our defense was amazing and Jacko got us our goal, Holt got none, I laughed after that, I think Holt has now even improved himself.
Found something, It was for League only so don't include his 2 cup goals or whatever cup assists he has so this is great for just in the league. http://www.imscouting.com/players/grant-holt/ This Season Int'l Career Appearances 42 - Goals 20 - Assists 11 -
I voted Ruddy, was tempted by R Martin and Crofts too but it's easy to overlook Ruddy because he hasn't kept many clean sheets, but every game he always get 1 or 2 great games, and I shudder to think where we would be without the points those have saved us. Every time we score late on, Ruddy usually also makes a great save late on that could of been a goal. And the guy runs the whole length of the pitch to celebrate with the team, what's not to like?
I've gone for Russel Martin, although you could make a case for almost anyone with the year that we've had! Have to echo the sentiments many have already put on here about russ; the way he has tirelessly gone about every game this season has been nothing short of extraordinary. A couple of people who sit behind me at CR were constantly moaning about how "bad" he was at the start of the season; he's had to win over quite alot of doubters. The game against Derby opitimised his and our season really, the way he relentlessly bombed on down the wing dertermined to get the 3 points.
I can see Russel Martin coming second on here as he has a few votes now, He has had a great season I think.
