Happy with that team, would rather Sterling be on the bench than Adam. Assaidi isn't on the bench which I think most of us expected.
For those who don't know, link to firstrowsports, scroll down to find liverpool of course. http://www.thefirstrow.eu/
Rooney was brought from Everton. Joe Hart was brought from Shrewsbury. Couple of examples where players have been brought from smaller clubs and have been pretty impressive. Most players start at "smaller" clubs before moving onto bigger clubs so god knows what he's on about...
West brom team for those who care: 01 Foster 02 Reid 03 Olsson 06 Ridgewell 23 McAuley 05 Claudio Yacob 07 Morrison 21 Mulumbu 09 Long 22 Gera 24 Odemwingie Substitutes 13 Myhill 18 Jara 25 Dawson 10 El Ghanassy 11 Brunt 20 Lukaku 32 Fortune
Can we just all agree now that what ever the result we won't get carried away? If we do lose, then hopefully no one comes out says we were awful, need to spend another £50mil just to challenge for top 6, Rodgers is out of his depth etc. Win, lose or draw we aren't going to see the finished article until at least half way through the season when the new signings have bedded in and Rodgers has had time to implement his ideas on the squad.
West Bromwich Albion team to face Liverpool. Foster, Reid, Olsson, McAuley, Ridgewell; Yacob, Morrison, Mulumbu, Gera; Long, Odemwingie SUBS: Myhill, Jara, Dawson, El Ghanassy, Brunt, Lukaku, Fortune Looking like a standard 4-4-2 for West Brom & Steve Clarke today. The partnership of Long & Odemwingie which served West Brom well last season starts up-front and Clarke gives Claudio Yacob his first start in midfield. Summer signings El Ghanassy & Lukaku start on the bench. EDIT: jaffakop beat to to it... Again!
Looks like the lineup most expected (Enrique apart). Bit suprised by the bench though, they are saying on the LFC channel that its a really strong bench but I disagree. Lack of attacking quality there, amazed we have 3 central midfielders and no Sterling. Dont see a game changer there at all. Pretty confident that starting 11 is good enough to win though so hopefully the bench is irrelevant.
Don't worry about it! I thought I was quick in getting the team news... You had it posted seconds after it was announced! Top work that. It shall happen soon...
You have to respect his opinion because he was a top class manager....... Oh hang no he wasn't. He was a gambling addicted over rated dick head. Really p's me off these pundits who have no managerial experience because they didn't have the balls to do it. (Hansen excepted ..just because)
Here we go then! the start of another Premier league season. BR's picked the best XI for the job today methiniks. 'Pool to win 1-0
They always suck up to the players/manager on the club channel. Anyone who rings in to argue against the team selection or whatever, they get shot down and touted as fairweather fans. I agree with you, the bench isn't great, surely Sterling is more likely to get a goal coming on than Adam or Cole or even Carroll for that matter.
What annoys me about Soccer Saturday is they have 3 hours of build up then cut to adverts at 3pm as everyone is kicking off and you miss the first 2 minutes of the matches! Why not have the adverts beforehand and come back in time for kick off...
