The first game of the season is imminent: very exciting! I've predicted a win here. We've got a well established, solid back four/goal keeper and -- praise be to the footballing god(s)! -- the exceptional Lucas is back, so I can't see them scoring. Also, with our new signings/youth players we'll be more creative and incisive in front of goal. I'm expecting a 0-1 or 0-2 win with Allen and Assaidi coming off the bench, possibly for Shelvey and Downing, respectively - although I'd like us to start Assaidi to put a rocket up Downing's arse, if nothing else! I predicted us to finish 7th this year, but with our new signings/youth players maturing, and more transfers to come in I'm sure this season will be mesmerising. We had a better squad / team than rivals thought last year (despite the results / final position not being representative of our play) and Rodgers has improved it considerably already. It's looking rosey, and I see some big shocks on the cards this season. As said I!
I'm going for 0-5 It's a no brainer, It's a Steve Clarke team, they'll hit the woodwork, all their moves will break down in the final 3rd. They'll defend well enough, but we will still tear them the bits.
Be serious, Nobleox, we'll be tearing into each other well before 3 pm tomorrow. PS I'm not starting it!!!
Should be stickied for the night/day of the game so we don't have multiples. So ****ing excited, seriously can't wait, just footy in general has begun again!
Oh yeah...**** Seriously though...Lucas is back...got to make a difference surely. Would love Borini to score even the scrappiest of tap-ins just to get him off and running. We've got to start taking our chances this year.
Stupidly exited exited about tommorrow. I am facing the new season with a great deal of optimism and as always hope. I am realistic enough to see top four as a tough ask, yet exited and stupid enough to think that with a bit of luck we could sneak third. First day of the season, i love it.
