Getting away from Suarez what do we take from the game. We started off really well, controlled most of first half but they came out really fired,up second half,bypassed our midfield with the long ball game and in the end were unlucky not to get a draw. Was pleased with our attitude if not with the quality of our passing 2nd half. Pitch was very poor and negated our strengths. Positive performances. Jones. . Stood up well to a lot of high balls and bodies in the box. Robinson. Again looked fairly strong and used possession pretty well. Shelvey . Our most creative player,linked up well with Sturridge and maybe could have scored. Sturridge. Excellent debut,great movement and pace. Took goal well but should have scored more. Minus points. Coates. Looked sluggish and was surprisingly bullied. Lucas. One of his worst games he has had for a long long time. Allen. Liked Coates was outmuscled. Flanagan.. Really not good enough. Well done to Mansfield,really went for it 2nd half. Not the most attractive way to play but effective.
Doubt that very much. One if not both of Lucas or Allen will play, both played ninety minutes today and neither played well but I know which one did the better and it wasn't Joe! Plus, we need Lucas in games like Man Utd
