Feel bad for Borini. Not getting a chance to get his career going. Looks like he's dislocated his shoulder. Very, very painful.
Shame about Borini. It wasn't a necessary tackle, but it was one that showed how dedicated he was to getting the ball. It should have ended better for him. Hopefully he won't be out long, he deserves to start his career properly.
I fear he won't be having another season here. I think he'll be shipped out back to Italy in the summer.
I agree, even though not a fan of his, shame he is hurt. Do want to point out though, he started just about every game for the first quarter of the season.
Good result- although we have to conclude that Swansea really won that game because they were resting 6 players. If we were really as good as Swansea we should have scored 12 goals- just to break even, because each of those players they rested would have contributed a couple of goals each.
good game all be it against a weakened side. But as one of my old girlfriends used to say you can only play with whats in front of you.
Don't see why. He's played 10 games for us because of stupid injuries. Both injuries he suffered are not those of someone who is injury prone, just of someone who is unlucky. To be fair he looked good in positioning and movement. We weren't very good as a team those 8 matches he played, I can't really blame him that much. He has missed a few chances but then again, so has Suarez. If Downing can get selected week in week out for doing nothing (not saying he's been poor, he's just done nothing) then Borini should stay at least. He's also suffered the misfortune of getting starts and appearances when Suarez has subbed off, and that's not good. You see how Suarez links up everyone in the final third, that's what Borini needs. Not a run out with Shelvey.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It was a good game- if we can play like that every game it would be possible... but let's not kid ourselves too much- remember the last couple of weeks? We could just as easily play like that for the rest of the season. Missed first half- but based on the brief glimpse I saw of "Kuyt-inho" he looks an astute purchase. There again- it's easy to look good when the other team is playing like crap. Sturridge is brilliant- great buy. So, we have two new players who are insta-better than who they seem to be replacing (if they can keep it up)- that means we ARE a better team than we were before January. I'm optimistic but 4th? Nah! That's a little too far.
We are three points behind Everton and have a far superior goal difference. But Everton have a game in hand. We still have to play against them though.
Yup. We absolutely have to beat Everton. Not sure who they have in hand though. They're more solid at the back than us - thats the only difference between the two teams.
